Simona “A toast; to all of you who made this dream come true. This is my first restaurant in Asheville, and I couldn’t have done it without every one of you. You are all deeply appreciated.” I raised my glass and took a sip of the champagne, then scanned the room for Amber. She had spent most of the night hiding in various corners, but she managed to be charming to everyone she came across. This wasn’t easy for me either, but I knew that without that public face, the one that portrayed confidence and success, I wouldn’t inspire motivation in the people who worked for me.
