As I flinch from the memory, even now, the pain and humiliation of that night still lingers. It was the very first punishment of my life, a harsh awakening to the realities of my family's expectations and the price of my indiscretions. "I am sorry, Lune," I whispered into the thin air of the night. The moon was my witness to my apology to Lune and now, before I could repent my past mistakes, I was on my way to making another one. I was going to take her mate away from her and myself, the fear would take over me once again and I was shamelessly letting it win. "Do you know the relationship we have with Nikolai?" I asked carefully. For a moment, I thought she was going to go back into her shell and cut off all communication with me again, but that assumption proved wrong when she spoke.
