"Why did it stop?" Melissa asked as he looked at the elevator. It made weird noises and the sudden jerkiness of the elevator made all of us lose our balance. I stumbled on Nikolai as Melissa was caught by Marcus from falling. The lights went out and there was complete darkness. I felt my heart beating fast but the hand that was on the chest of the stoic man was faster.
"Fuck." Marcus cursed as he rummaged through things in the darkness. I reckon he was trying to find his phone. Nikolai's hold on my hand tightened as the elevator jerked again. The darkness was suffocating, and I could hear Marcus cursing softly as he fumbled in the blackness, presumably searching for his phone. Beside me, Nikolai's grip on my wrist tightened painfully, his panic palpable even in the absence of light."Ouch
