Chapter 3: Hunter's Night At midnight, the bell outside the Silver Claw Tower rang slowly. Evelyn sat quietly beside the master bedroom bed, the moonlight outside the window was like snow, illuminating her bare shoulders and reflecting the silver needle hidden in the ring in her hand. This was her last weapon that had not been exposed. Not for assassination, but to remind herself that she was never anyone's subordinate, not any Alpha's plaything. But she had to endure it, at least for now. Just then, the door was pushed open. The footsteps were steady and clear, without any disguise. The person who came was Killian. He was wearing a dark morning robe, with a loose belt around his waist, and his short silver-gray hair was slightly messy. He looked less cold than usual, and had a hint of dangerous aura that made people's heartbeats inexplicably accelerated. Evelyn's nerves suddenly tensed up, and the hand holding the silver needle quietly hid under the pillow. "Not asleep yet?" Killian stood by the bed, looking down at her, his gray eyes seemed to have a subtle ripple. "I'm not used to strange beds." "You'll get used to it later." He whispered, sitting directly beside the bed. The breath in the air suddenly changed subtly. As an Alpha, his pheromones were strong and oppressive, but Evelyn found at this moment that her body was reacting unconsciously. The pheromones in her body were quietly mobilized, and she was slightly restless. "Don't release pheromones deliberately to test me." She raised her head, her eyes sharp. "Test?" Killian chuckled, his voice low and hoarse, "Evelyn, you may not know much about Alpha - I don't need to release it at all, it's already there." He suddenly leaned over and approached her, his forehead almost touching her: "Tell me, whose descendant are you? How come the Silver Moon Mark is on you?" "You won't believe me even if I tell you." "Then tell me." She stared at him coldly, and finally spoke slowly: "My mother is from the 'Silver Feather Clan', a clan that was listed as 'rebellious bloodline' and exterminated by the parliament thirty years ago. And I am the last descendant." The air condensed instantly. Killian's eyes flashed with surprise: "Silver Feather... Are you the daughter of Silver Feather?" "Are you scared too?" Evelyn raised her eyebrows. "It's not fear, it's... surprise." He stood up, turned his back to her and was silent for a long time, "No one has dared to mention this name for more than ten years." "I live to make it remembered again." Killian didn't look back, but his voice was as deep as the night: "If you are really the descendant of Silver Feather... you should know what your appearance beside me means to the parliament." "Of course I know." Evelyn said lightly, "So you'd better not fall in love with me." "Fall in love?" Killian turned his head, his eyes complicated, "You are too confident." "Don't you want to know what my real goal is?" "If you tell me the answer, I will immediately put you in the cage at the bottom of the tower." "Then you can guess slowly." She smiled slightly, her coldness revealed a sharp edge. --- The night was deep. Evelyn did not really fall asleep. She got up gently, put on a gray-blue cloak, and quietly opened the window. The wind carried the unique coldness of Silver Claw City, and was also mixed with a faint smell of blood. "There will be a small black market transaction tonight in the third warehouse area." She whispered, and a black jade with a faint light appeared in her hand. It was the induction stone inherited by the Silver Feather Clan, which could identify the residual breath of Alpha. She knew that someone would appear in the transaction tonight, and that person might be related to the death of her mother. She had to go. Even if it violated Killian's ban. However, as soon as she jumped off the tower platform, a shadow quietly appeared behind her. Killian's voice was as cold as iron: "Where are you going?" Evelyn did not look back, but whispered: "You can't restrict me." "You are my contract partner now." "That is just a legal constraint, not my inner belonging." Silence. A few seconds later, Killian actually stepped forward, stood beside her, and looked at the same night. "Since you insist on going, I will accompany you." He suddenly said. Evelin turned around in surprise: "You want to accompany me?" "Female hunters of the Silver Feather Clan should not act alone." He glanced at her and said calmly: "You are mine, not prey."
