“Thank you for the books, Luna!” a little girl with brown curly hair tells me as she sits down next to the bookshelf that I’m loading. I had ordered some new books for the Omega school after I realized how few they had in comparison. “You’re welcome!” I tell her, handing her a book with a princess on the cover. “Do you think you can read them all?!” “I don’t know, that’s a lot of books, but I’m going to try!” I laugh at her enthusiasm. I never dreamed that a few new books could make such a difference, but I don’t even have them on the shelves and the kids are so excited. Perhaps it’s not so much about the books, but about having someone give them something new. “What do you think of the new playground?” I ask. She smiles at me brightly. “It looks so cool! When can we play on it?
