“What do you mean Kade is going out there?” I yell, pacing around the riders' paddock. I yank my phone out and pull up his medical records while Sandy trails hot on my heels.
“Uh...” Toney stammers. “He volunteered.”
I stop so abruptly I nearly crash into Sandy.
“What?”
I spin around so fast I almost kiss her by accident before glaring at the three idiots.
“He has a back injury, for crying out loud! Why would any of you let this happen?”
Jackson steps in front of me, his face bruised and bloodied.
“It was our fault. Mostly mine,” he admits. “But don't worry about Kade. He can handle himself.”
I look him dead in the eye.
“If you don't get the f**k out of my face, I'll beat you even more.”
He actually flinches.
