“You made it!”
Toney pulls me into a hug, sweeping me off my feet in the process. I yelp, trying to pry myself free, but he only squeezes me tighter and I quickly realize what he’s doing.
He’s trying to get a rise out of Kade.
“You’re wasting your time,” I whisper. “He won’t react.”
Toney immediately sets me back on my feet, his brows pull together as he glances between me and Kade before making a beeline for him without another word.
I watch him go before letting out a quiet sigh, this whole situation is pissing me off for some reason, and it shouldn’t.
I mean, all Kade does is make me feel like s**t…
