A Terrible Kisser

1176 Words
Kade Ever felt darkness, and a year’s worth of anger being dragged out of you from just a measly kiss? That is how I feel right now, with Sora’s lips on mine. Fuck. Me. My c**k twitches in my pants and I blank the f**k out. Hold it together, little man, it’s just a f*****g kiss, not a full blown make out session. My hands stay stiffly by my side, confused on where to actually put them. Her waist? Back? Neck? I wasn’t a teenage boy with zero experience, so why the f**k was this hard for me? Sora pulls away from me, her lips swollen and pink from the kiss. “That’s not how to kiss your girlfriend, now is it?” “I should be suing you for s****l harassment. You didn’t ask for consent and I never agreed to date you.” My hands settle around her waist almost on instinct. Her eyes flick toward the empty space behind me before returning to mine, a triumphant smile spreading across her face. My stomach drops. Fuck. She was just trying to piss Cam off. The realization leaves a bitter taste at the back of my throat. My hold on her waist tightens and instead of pulling away, she melts against me, fingers sliding through my hair. “Like you said, we need each other and on the bright side, I need that money since your brother just gave me an ultimatum.” Her shoulders lift in a careless shrug against my chest. “What ultimatum?” My fingers lazily twist one of the curls around my hand. Cinnamon and rosemary drift from her hair, warm and earthy enough to distract me for a second. I made a mental note to ask about her hair routine. “I live with Cam because I have money issues. He said, and I quote, ‘Break up with him or move out of my house.’ I chose the latter, to which he said he didn’t mean it... but to be on the safe side, I’d rather not.” I let her go slowly, staring down at her confused yet serious face then I bark out a laugh. “Cameron always manages to crack me up.” Sora grimaces, “Can we stop talking about him already?” I don’t miss the pain in her voice when she pleads to me to drop it, but I just can’t. There’s something very obvious playing here, Cameron was in love with Sora but for some reason he’s chosen to be with Daisy and I wonder why. I just can’t believe that he would in his right mind pick plastic cheating Barbie over his best friend. I open my mouth to say something but Sora shoots me a glare, rolling her eyes. Darn, she’s feisty. I like it. “Please shut up, your voice is beginning to annoy me.” My lips curve into a smile. “You’re the first girl ever to openly beg me to keep shut, it makes me want to talk to you more.” “Kade.” She warns sternly. “Shadow.” I coo, my legs tired from standing for the last hour, well if you don’t count when I laid on the floor. Don’t blame me. I’m not one of those who find fun in taking walks or running marathons. Being on my feet is definitely one of my least favorite things to do after being around druggies. An hour? I laugh to myself, the boy will definitely have a field day once they hear Sora got me standing here for more than thirty minutes with a petty revenge kiss as my little reward. “See? We already act like a real couple, baby.” I tease, flicking her hair. A frustrated sound leaves her throat. She’s so cute when she’s upset. “Well if that’s all, I’ll be taking my leave now.” I call, turning to the exit, I hear someone running behind me. “Are… phew… are you going to leave me here?” She yells, panting hard like she ran a marathon but we’re barely in the parking area. “Yeah? My job is kind of done?” I replied, without looking back. “What about the bet?” I slow down my strides, giving her room to catch up to me and luckily she catches up quickly. “It’s on, but on one condition.” “How’s there a new condition?” I ignored her question, “don’t worry it’s a simple request. Don’t kiss me like that again.” I warn, shutting my eyes to stop the disgust boiling in my throat, “If you want to piss my brother off, inform me first.” She stays quiet and suddenly slows her steps, without looking I grab her by the wrist and lead a very begrudging Sora. “What’s the problem, Shadow?” “Nothing.” She murmurs more to herself than me. Fuck. She’s adorable. “I want you to know, if we are dating I need to know what you’re thinking.” “Am I such a terrible kisser?” I stop dead in my tracks, of everything I’d mentioned that’s what she grasped? Being a bad kisser? For f***s sakes, I felt myself being born again from just a f*****g kiss. Baptized and all, ready for rapture. Slowly, I turn to look at her. Moonlight catches the uncertainty in her expression and suddenly all the teasing drains out of me. Why the f**k did she care what I thought? Damn it. “No.” It comes out more like a question, mixed with disbelief and confusion. Sora looks up at me. “No?” I rake a hand through my hair, she shouldn’t be looking at me like my answer can either make or break her. She shouldn’t depend on my word. “That’s quite literally the opposite of the problem, Shadow.” Her cheeks flush a shade of pink instantly. “So the why—“ “Because,” I cut in, “I’d prefer not to be used as a weapon every time you decide my brother needs to be punished, without my knowledge.” She winces and I want to hug her, to soothe her. “I just thought…” she trails off. I tilt her chin up, “Shadow, I was so f*****g hard from your kiss I nearly came in my pants. Imagine my disappointment when I realized it was just a ploy.” Her eyes widened at my words, mouthing opening before snapping shut again. “Right.” She finally mutters. “Right.” Silence stretches between us and I’m scared to say something, I mean I just told her how hard I got from her kiss and all she said was “Right” God she was innocent, so f*****g pure you could smell it from afar. But even then there was a hint of darkness in her. A perfect dangerous combination. “Take me home with you.”
