Romeo

I had been laying low ever since Max took control and ran off. He didn’t want to confront Cj and Bishop; he wanted his fated mate. He was angry at me for pushing the issues and isolating our family and making Murphy mad at me and him. But I didn’t care Cj was mine and I planned to make her mine. I had spent a week away from the pack licking my wounds and hooking up with random humans coming up with a plan. I even called the world council to see if there were any laws in place that I could use to force Cj’s hand. But other than a mating challenge there was none. I was balls deep in a sow during the Beltane celebration when I felt the pressure of another ranked member. I was just as confused as everyone else in the pack. The presence was evasive, dominating it honestly felt like we had someone else as our Alpha. I was worried something had happened to Cj. but when I went to talk to Cj that morning and Nola told me she had gone I got suspicious. On top of that Bishop was nowhere in the pack. His groupies were looking for him and couldn’t find him. I put 1 and 1 together and became infuriated the a.sshole f.ucking marked her. he marked what is mine. I will f.ucking kill him. I spent the weekend imagining all the ways me and Max could kill the f.ucking upstart. So, when Cj did a mass mind link this morning about a mandatory pack dinner, I just knew what was going to be said and I’ll be damned if it would. She will be mine! It was 6pm when I made my way to the dining hall. I sat with my small group of fellow warriors. I didn’t want to be anywhere near the alpha table and my parents when the s.hit went down. I didn’t need my father trying to stop me. The hall went deathly silent when Cj, Bishop, Nola, Rainbow, Juliet and her mate Thomas all walked in like some f.ucking super group. Everyone took their places at the Alpha table with Cj at the head and Bishop by her side. I wanted to puke at the optics of it all. I should be at the head of that table with Cj by my side. “Hello everyone, thank you for joining me tonight, I have several announcements to make” Cj said. “First and foremost, I know everyone felt the bond of a new rank member snap into place and that is because I had found my fated mate”. There were gasps of surprise throughout the hall. I just sat there, my anger rising more and more at the lies she was obviously feeding us. “Alpha Bishop Monroe, yes, he is an Alpha by birth of the Snow Mountain pack in New York. is my fated mate, we kept it a secret from the general public, but the rank members and elders knew from day one” she said. “Why keep it a secret”, someone yelled from the middle of the hall. “Well, that was on me, my past has not been a secret to any of you. Y’all know what happened to my first mate and the fall out afterwards. I did not want to make any mistakes or throw away this gift the goddess had given me. So Alpha Bishop graciously gave us time to get to know each other before claiming each other.” “So is he Alpha now and your Luna” someone else asked. “No, I am not Luna. We will co-alpha the pack and share the luna responsibilities and alpha duties equally.” There were murmurs and whispers throughout the hall some encouraging Cj and others making snide remarks about how she should know I woman’s place. I just sat and stared holes into her as she dared parade him in front of me. “Whether y’all agree or not he is my mate and he will be co-alpha of this pack as I am not stepping down from being Alpha. This pack is my birthright and as such I am Alpha. There will be no official luna to the pack if some of you do not like it. I will gladly make arrangements for you to leave Desert Moon as soon as possible.” That shuts up the naysayers quickly. As no one wanted to leave Desert Moon. “Now as I was saying Alpha Bishop and I will be having our commitment ceremony, his Alpha ceremony and our Marriage ceremony all on the same day 2 weeks from now.” That was it, that was the straw that broke the camel’s back. How dare she go as far as to marry this son of a b.itch. I couldn’t hold it in anymore. I jumped up from my seat, rage seeping out of my pores as I yelled! “How fu.cking dare, you, you are mine this f.ucking pack is mine I am alpha!” I looked directly at the interloper and said, “I Romeo Evan Vonn Cha.” Before I could even get the whole sentence out of my mouth Bishop jumped up and loudly growl his alpha aura pushing out of him in waves. It was suffocating, everyone in the room wolves, bear and witches alike were all baring their necks fighting the urge to get down on their knees. Even the elders my father included were baring their necks, I was stunned when my father’s knees touched the ground before Bishop. Max was cowering in my head under the weight of Bishops aura. Bishop slowly walked up to me like he was stalking his prey. As much I wanted to fight it, I dropped down to my knees. My eyes diverted and neck bared. “How f.ucking dare you! Try to challenge me for something that was given to me by the moon goddess. Our union is blessed, and no one will challenge that! Alpha Cj is not a commodity or property to be f.ucking owned or controlled. She cannot be handed down like a fu.cking ragdoll to the highest bidder. How dare you disrespect my fu.cking mate and alpha like that” he yelled at me, spit flying in my face. I glanced up and was met with eyes so red it looked like the fires of hell burned deep within them. “If you want to fight and die so fu.cking, be it. But it will not be for my mate or my title. Both are my goddess given rights and blessings. Now get the f***k up and let’s go! You’re making my dinner cold.” I stood on shaky legs as Bishop stormed out the dining room I looked around and no one would or could make eye contact with me expect Cj and my father. They both had looks of rage and disgust across their faces. I started to walk out the hall following Bishop as he made his way toward the training grounds. The pack followed with Cj and my family fast on our heels. Max was still cowered within my mind mumbling about how he hopes next time he gets a smarter human. it was at that exact moment the reality of my situation hit me like I ton of bricks. I had no way of winning this fight. If his aura was this strong, then I was putty in his hands. Today will be the day I died. My love, no my obsession with Cj and being alpha would be my downfall and reason I died. s**t! I would never find my fated mate, never have pups of my own, never see Juliets pups or my mother’s smile again. My righteous rage quickly dissipated in the clarity of my situation. I looked over at my dad, the disappointment evident on his face as he held my mother in his arms. She was crying and begging Cj to stop everything. But Cj just shook her head and looked forward at her mate. I watched as Cj walked up to him and whispered in his ear. The look of love and acceptance seared itself on my soul. She never looked at anyone like that, she never looked at me like that. It was like all my senses were finally alive. I felt the warmth of the wind on my face. The tightness of my muscles I heard the indistinct chatter around me and the not so quite sobs of my mother and twin. No one was in my corner giving me pointers or words of encouragement I was alone. This would be my final minute in this world alone without anyone to comfort me. “who’s fu.cking fault is that” Max says. “I told you Cj was not for us, I begged you to look for and find our fated mate. I told you to be happy with our lot in life, but no! you just had to be the better bear, better than your father better than others now we will f.ucking die. So, f***k you Romeo my life was worth more than this. Worth more than being paired with a pathetic ass human like you.” With that Max retreated back to my mind. Former Beta Tony came onto the field and called the start of the fight. I just got into a fighting stance when I was hit full force in the face and knocked on my ass. S.hit I really am a dead man.

Unknown POV

I was perched in the rafters of the dining hall of the pack house wishing like crazy I could shift into my human form. This s**t was better than any Netflix movie out there I needed popcorn. The twin Romeo just stepped into a steaming pile of s**t, and I was here for it all. I wished someone would put him in his place and would have bet money it would’ve been Cj. But boy oh boy it’s her mate which makes it even better. The boy just didn’t learn. Not when Cj rejected his ass, not when his daddy beat his ass, not even when that zaddy older beta turned is hand into a claw and threaten to make him sing soprano for the rest of his life. Now look at him on his knees and about to pee on himself. I just mentally chuckled to myself my eyes glued to what’s going on below. I was so focused I didn’t even notice the huge barn owl swoop in from the same window I did. “Cinquedea”, I hear my twin brother’s voice in my head. I look over and mentally face palm. “f***k! Yes Nimcha,” “What are you doing so close to the targets.” “I am observing them like we are supposed to. Now shut up so I can listen this s.hit is getting good down there.” He c****d his head to the side looking at the scene with more interest now. “What’s going on?” “Well Alpha Cj just announced she found her mate. Remember I sent y’all an email about the wolf and bear that came to the pack not too long ago.” “Yeah, I remember” “Well the bear is the girl twins’ mate, and the wolf is the alphas he’s an alpha too and by the strained looks on everyone’s face a strong ass one at that.” “Ummm I agree so?” “So d.umbfuck bear boy.” “Oh no don’t tell me the fu.cker tried to get Cj again.” “Yup” I said popping the P. my brother just lifted his wing to his face. “The stupid stupid boy.” “Yup so essentially now he dies.” The alpha headed out of the hall, and everyone followed including my brother and me. We take up our perch on a tree branch close to the new alpha and continue our conversation. “What are you doing here Nimcha?” “I am here with an assignment from Jian for you.” “Oh, come on not now s.hit is getting good over here.” “Sorry not sorry little sister” “I am only younger by 1-minute Nimcha lay off the little s.hit.” “Oh, come on you can’t be serious Cin look at you, you make Alpha Cj look like a damn sss warrior.” “I just glare at him.” “Ok fine but it still stands Jian wants you in ocean groove pack by the morning to monitor and report back on Alpha Declan. The council believes he is the blessed wolf.” “I gulp and just turn to look at my twin. Nimcha,” I say. “Don’t Cin. I know and neither you nor me can give voice to what we know is true. Just follow the directions of Jian. I will take over watching here until Sabre comes to relieve me.” “But!” “No buts Cin just do as we do and do as you’re told.” “What if we get caught,” “We won’t get caught.” “When Sabre relieves you, he’ll know.” “Then he’ll know, he’ll finally have to make a decision now won’t he. Us or Jian and the council.” “I am afraid Nimcha what if he chooses Jian and duty over us.” “We just have to have faith in the goddess Artemis. She has never steered us wrong.” I just nod and continue to focus on what is going on in the training field, praying to Artemis that everything will turn out alright.
