Chapter 16
EJ
The Easter celebration with our allied packs is going well. Setting Sun and Golden Mountain brought their orphaned children and a few single warriors looking for their mates. Dorothy’s four brothers came as the representatives from Setting Sun. They seem to be giving Chad a hard time. It looks like he is holding his own against them. Looking at them and their interaction with each other and even Dorothy gives me a pause. I never had that kind of relationship or camaraderie with Bishop. It was always a competition. I’ve always had to beat him, be better than him. Our parents made it that way and I just went with it. We were both alphas and it could have been easy to Co-alpha the pack like they do at Golden Mountain or even have him as my Beta. But that is not how we do things here at Snow Mountain. There is only one alpha and that is me, f***k Bishop I hope he stays away for good. Become rogue for all I f.ucking care. We don’t need him anyway. I am sure there are other programmers in the company that can do what he does. I walk around the party debating with myself if I should excommunicate Bishop and pronounce him rogue or not. When I look toward where the bulk of Golden Mountain has gathered and notice their Co Alpha Deacon King had decided to come as well. Usually, Golden Mountain sends their Beta couple, but Alpha Deacon decided to come this time I wonder why. The children of the three packs, along with the adults, are all out in the big field where we had the warriors hide the various candy-filled eggs for them. I walked up to Alpha Deacon.
“Hello Alpha Deacon, how are you doing?” I asked, “I am well thank you for asking how are you doing?” “I am fine as well. What brings you to Snow Mountain? Your beta couple is usually the ones to come to these things, aren’t they.” “Yes, usually but I decided to come and catch up with Bishop. I haven’t seen him in a while. But when I went to his house it was boarded up.” “Ah well, Bishop is on assignment in New Mexico for the company right now.” “Oh, really wow good to know, I guess I just have to reach out to him then. Damn and I was hoping to see him today.” “Why? May I ask maybe I can help.” “Nah, nothing you can help with, it’s a personal problem. Plus, my brother and I were wondering if he was going to spend the upcoming holidays here. Since you know, he found his mate and all that or if they’ll be spending it with us.” “Well, from what I know he isn’t due back to the pack until November around thanksgiving time. Also, him and Anna are no longer mates. They rejected each other.” “Oh, really wow what happened.” “Apparently my brother couldn’t satisfy his mate and he found her cheating on him.” “I see that’s so sad.” “Yes, really sad.” I said with a smirk. “You still haven’t found your mate have you Ej?” “Nope and I am not actively looking for her either. I am good with my life right now.” “I see. Well, I see one of my warriors might have found a mate here. I got to go.”
I watched Alpha deacon walk off. Slightly ticked off that he and his brother are so close to Bishop. That their relationship with our pack started because of Bishop. Their pack is one of the largest on the east coast. It’s beneficial for us to be in the alliance we have with them. It just sucks that our relationship hinges on Bishop's stupid ass. Bishop stayed the most at their pack when he was sent away. I just don’t understand how they could stand to be near him or have him in their pack. Like there are already 2 alphas with Deacon being a twin. He and his brother decided to share alpha duties and run the pack together. I just don’t understand how the f***k they manage that. Dion should have just made Deacon a Beta or Gamma for his mate if he wanted to keep him around. I really couldn’t understand the Co Alpha thing. Why would anyone give up absolute power if they didn’t have it too? But that’s their f.ucking mess to deal with. Add Bishop to the mix and I just can’t fantom how they can stand him. He was an older alpha, male. I mean his alpha aura is weak as s.hit but it’s still there. I walk around the party mingling with everyone as I am supposed to. Noticing the mates that have formed intermingling our packs even more. I smile to myself knowing that they can’t easily back out of our alliance even if they wanted to. Apollo tugs at my consciousness but I kick him back to the depths of my subconscious, I don’t need him f.ucking guilting me about Bishop or whining about his fated mate. I am looking for a good lay tonight.
Alpha Deacon
That f.ucking a.sshole! I swear if it wasn’t for Bishop, we wouldn’t have anything to do with this f.ucked up pack. I came here to see what was really going on. I couldn’t fathom a brother doing to Bishop what Ej had done. But of course, the douche bag never fails to impress me with his narcissism. I met Bishop as an envoy of his pack to form alliances. He was barely 16 at the time. My twin and I were 14 at the time took to him like a long-lost older brother. I guess it helped that I was waiting on him. But even without knowing what I know, I would have liked him from the start. We were very much alike, both second sons, both alphas by birth, both liked solitude and nature. I am the second son to former Alpha Stephon King and Former Luna Diane King. I was born a whole 5 minutes after my twin brother Dion. Unlike Ej and Bishop, there was never any jealously between us. I knew my role in life from the moment I was able to understand that there was another presence within me. See, I am the blessed wolf for this generation. I have had my wolf since the time I was born, growing up with all his knowledge. As with all blessed wolves, I have enhanced strength, speed, agility, hearing all the physical attributes, but my blessed ability is that I am a seer. I can see into the future or the past. So, I know all the mystery surrounding Bishop and everything that is to come. I knew that we would find each other and be as close as brothers. The moon goddess chose him to be my protector and ally. It was a blessing that he became my best friend as well. It’s just a bonus that I have Dion and he has Thomas. We became like the four musketeers.
“Is it time to claim our mate?” my wolf Raziel asked. “Not yet you know this. It’s just beginning” I reply “I am tired of waiting” “I know but things have to play out the way we seen, if not everything could be doomed. Plus, she is not ready for us yet” “Humph! This is going to take too long” “Just another year or so and she’ll be ours” “How are you so calm?” he asked me in frustration. “Because I know what’s at stake and I know what’s the endgame, as do you. Now do you want to f***k it all up just to get your d**k wet or do we do this the right way and wait” “Urgh! Fine human we will wait, but I only have so much patience” “impatient ass wolf, if you have a problem go take it up with Selene, not me. You think it’s easy for me to know exactly who and what our mate is and not claim her, not help her. The time is not right and, for the sake of everyone we must wait. The bishop is in play right now. We still have the knight, the pawns, and the rook to make themselves known and position themselves before all the players can reveal themselves.” “This is just some game to you, isn’t it” Raziel said. “No, not at all. But this is Gods chess and we’re just pieces on the board.”
Raziel just growls as he retreats to the back of my mind. I can’t say that I blame him, this game of cat and mouse between the Gods and the World Council has been going on for centuries and is just beginning to come to its conclusion. Whether for good or bad, I just have to play my position and help those along as best as I can. But with Bishop in New Mexico things are just a little too close to home for my liking. How do I reach out to my friend and keep Raziel from reaching out and claiming our mate before it’s time. I shook my head and continued to walk in the direction of my warrior and his new mate. Hopefully, I can convince them to settle in Golden Mountain and not stay here at Snow Mountain. Ej doesn’t know it yet, but Snow Mountain is on its last legs unless a miracle happens. Which talking to the a.sshat isn’t going to happen.
