Bishop

I have been in Northern Vermont for more than 3 weeks now, a wolf amongst bears. Me and Aries have been connecting more and coming to terms with the betrayal of Anna and Ej. Anna has been trying to call me every day since I left. I just let her go to voicemail. I have nothing to say. I spoke to Ej once since leaving. He asked about company business and when or if I would return to the pack. I told him I hadn’t decided. There was no apology, no explanation, nothing about his actions. He just told me it would be rare to find another alpha willing to allow me in their pack. His words can't have 2 alphas in a pack, and you don't want to become rogue now do you. I guess his way of trying to judge my course of action. He hated me in the pack but loved having a semi form of authority over me. I gave away nothing then again there’s nothing to give away I still haven’t decided what to do. Plus, we both know without me the company would lose its momentum and all those millions I bring in. During the day I let Aries take control and go patrolling with the bears in the sleuth. I usually stay in wolf form until dinner when I sit with Thomas and Josh and the others in the packhouse. But tonight, is Lola’s birthday and Josh decided to host a nice quiet dinner in their personal dining room. After patrols me and Thomas quickly get dressed and head on over to Joshes.

“So, what do you think will happen tonight.” I asked Thomas. “Well hopefully, Lola already found her mate when she went to school this morning. If not, I hope she is not too heartbroken to know that I am not her mate.” He replied “Yeah, I mean I am slightly tired of seeing those hearts in her eyes every time she looks at you.” “You and me both.” “Why didn’t you just tell her she’s not your mate.” “You don’t think I tried. I have, she just so sure I don’t know what I am talking about, since she’s not 18 yet. So even though I don’t want to hurt her, I am happy she’s 18 today, so it can finally get through her head that we are not mates.”

We entered the packhouse and rode the elevator up to Josh and Gabrielle’s apartments. When we arrived, Lola was sitting at the dining table with Gabrielle telling are about her day. As soon as she spotted Thomas, I seen the 1000-watt smile dim then break as she realized he was not her mate she stood up and ran from the room. Gabrielle shook her head and apologized to me and Thomas while josh exited the kitchen carrying the bread and salad for diner.

“What the f***k just happened?” Josh asked. “Well, Lola just realized we're not mates and ran out the room. Gabrielle went after her.” Thomas answered “Dammit!” Josh yelled “We all knew this was going to happen I just wished she didn’t take it so hard.” Thomas replied.

Josh offered us some beers as we sat at the table and talked. Gabrielle came back into the dining room about 15 minutes later telling us Lola wouldn’t be joining us. She prefers to be alone right now. The diner was a quiet event I informed Josh that I would be leaving by the end of the week to head to New Mexico. Thomas told him he’ll be leaving as well to keep me company and maybe find a mate out there. He was 24 and not getting any younger. After dinner we walked back to Thomas’ house in comfortable silence. This has been good for me, and Aries I thought to myself. I haven't felt this connected to Aries or free since before Annabelle.

“Yeah, that b.itch was like a parasite sucking all our joy.” Aries mumbled “Yeah, I know we're better, meant for better things. though I still don't know what to do about Ej and the pack.” I said “I say dump their asses like a bad habit. It's not like we mattered to them. I don't mind staying here. I kind of like being the only wolf around.” “I don't know I have a feeling something is waiting for us. Look, we have this job for the company and after that we'll decide.” “Fine” Aries huff “but even when we find what it is our soul is looking for, we will go and get our f.ucking revenge”. He replied.

We entered Thomas house and I head to the living room picking up my controller and logging back into fortnite I been playing a raid with a player called jolly St. Nick kicking ass and taking names. We don't talk on the mic, but we seem to be in sync with each other during the game.

“Hey man how's the game.” Thomas asks as he comes back down the stairs from his room. Dressed in black slacks and a grey button down his hair out of its bun “It’s good what you have going on tonight.” I asked Tom “Nothing just me a couple of guys from the patrols and some sows are going across the border into Canada to a little bar to unwind, want to come?” “Sows?” I asked “Yeah, you know female bears” “Oh, yeah nah man I'm not up for female company.” “Suit yourself but all I am going to say is when is the last time your d.ick got wet. You said so yourself you stopped really f.ucking Anna about 4 months ago. I know you're a newly single wolf and all but come on man live a little.” Thomas told me. “Nah man I'm good.” “Ok see you in the morning.”

Last weekend's excursion to Phoenix was awesome good food, relaxing just what I needed to recharge. I've been busy all week, but it doesn't feel like it. The girls have been over at my house every night this week just chilling, playing games or watching TV. It's been great having my crew all back together. Even Glory came by on Wednesday to just chill with us. I got Juliet to play a couple of rounds of fortnite with me and an online friend Chessmaster01. Tomorrow I'm having Daniel, a pack warrior pick up the Monroe Enterprise, IT guy and his companion from the airport. He informed Nola he’d be traveling with a bear companion. We were shocked at first but told him it wouldn’t be a problem at all that we’d set up both of their rooms in the packhouse for the time that they’ll be here. The first day they arrive we're going to have a meeting to go over some numbers. Then a pack dinner.

“Hey Christmas girl” “what's up opal.” “I don't know but I feel like something big is about to happen.” “Like what?” “I don't know just something I haven't ever felt this way before. Like I am standing on the ledge of a mountain about to take a leap of faith.” “Ummm I don't know what to tell you girl nothing is changing as far as I know.” “Just keep your head on the swivel Christmas. We need to be ready for anything.”

I woke up my normal 5am to get ready for my day. Training first with the warriors Papa D was brutal this morning he had us running for 10miles in human form then another 10 miles in wolf or bear form. From there I was paired with Jenny, a brown bear from his sleuth to spar with. Romeo tried to get his dad to pair us, but it didn’t work. Papa D knows the s.hit his son has been trying to spread and thus tries to keep us separated for his son’s sake. Today’s training was intense, but I was able to best Jenny and 2 other elite warriors from the pack before Papa D dismissed class. As I walked back through the training field to my house, I was stopped by Romeo.

“Hey Cj when are you going to let me taste that sweet p*****. of yours again.” “Never again Romeo we been through this I won't ever touch you again even with a plastic p.ussy.” “Come on Cj you know the best thing for the pack is us being together. A united front bear and wolf. With me as your alpha we'd be unstoppable.” “Not going to happen Romeo. I am alpha even if I was to pick a chosen mate, I am still ALPHA. No male is going to replace me.” “Yeah well, we'll see about that Cj.”

I shook my head at Romeo as he walked away. I wish either he gets a clue or finds his fated mate cause that boy is starting to piss me off. I entered my house to shower and get dressed for the day. Usually while on pack lands, I would wear a T-shirt, jeans and sneakers in the office because I like to be comfortable. But since we'll be having visitors, I have decided to dress for the occasion. I pulled out a pair of black dress slacks, paired it with a baby blue wrap top with a plunging neckline and baby blue blazer. I untwisted my hair and piled my curls into a messy bun on top of my head and applied a very light makeup of a smoky eye and clear lip gloss. I topped my outfit off with my black iron fist pumps. When I walked into the packhouse the nearest omega looked at me like I had 2 heads. “What are you looking at?” “Nothing alpha, you're looking very nice today” “thank you Stacy.” I made my way to my office to get my day started.

“Well well look at you” “don't start Nola” “I didn't say anything I am just happy you're starting to dress the part of our alpha.” I roll my eyes at my bestie. “Not all of us can be runway ready Nola.” “Yes, we can.” She said “Yes, you can Nola. not me” She just rolled her eyes and said “anyway you have 2 zoom meetings for the construction company and a bunch of emails to get through. While I go through training schedules, patrol schedules and pack house menus, oh fun.” “Ok” I replied “Once I am done with these, I can help with those.” “Sure, thing boss lady. I still say we need to think about that Gamma position opening.” I just roll my eyes at her suggestion.

The morning flew by and before I knew it, I was getting a mind link from Daniel that he and our guest were about 10 minutes from the gate. I mind linked Nola to meet me out front cause our guest was about to arrive. Papa D, Martha and Tony were already there when we arrived. We all stood on the porch of the packhouse as the black SUV pulled up. Two incredibly handsome men stepped out of the SUV. One was a chocolate God in black slacks with a white button down and Stacy Adam's shoes. The other was a handsome hipster, man bun, beard black slacks and a teal button down. Just then the wind blew, and Opal started going crazy in my head. The most delicious smell of hazelnut coffee and chocolate chip cookies hit my nose. I gasped and Opal screamed MATE in my head.
