The closer I got to Ej office the more the moans became noticeable. I mean the rooms are supposed to be soundproof but for someone like me, someone who was trained to be a tracker I can hear them. I got over my belief that Anna was a good person the first time I had walked in on Ej and her f*****g. It was about 4 months ago. I thought he was just f*****g a random omega like usual, when I went in to get approval of the week’s dinner menu and final cost of Christmas party. I had been pulling both beta female and Luna duties since I found my mate Chad and moved to this pack. But instead, it was anna on all fours her skirt bunched around her waist, hair wrapped in Ej hand and him balls deep in her ass. To say I was shocked was an understatement. That was the day I was alpha ordered like everyone else here to not say anything to bishop about the skanky b***h and his brother. It’s not like it’s a big secret I mean she has the audacity to sit in the Lunas seat during pack dinners and functions. I feel bad for bishop though it seems like he really doesn’t know what’s happening between his brother and mate. Supposedly she got a potion to keep the pains of betrayal away from her mate. But still, it doesn’t sit well with me that he basically walks around here being their cockold. The day I found out I went straight to Chad my mate and confronted him. But like every other dumbass in this pack, he seems to think Ej shits out rainbows and moonbeams. I mean I did too before finding out. But now that I know I can’t stomach it most days. When Ej and Chad first came to my old pack Setting Sun pack, I thought they were nice. Not going to sit here and lie I was originally attracted to Ej I mean who wouldn’t be at first glance, every girl loves chocolate. Chad was not my type, but the mate bond is some serious s**t. I usually date studious nerdy types like Bishop. My father and brothers would joke around and say I’d end up with a pack doctor or accountant. But instead on that faithful day I became a beta female. I am the only girl to the head trackers family at Setting Sun pack. I was raised like all 4 of my brothers to be a warrior and a tracker. Even though I am not drop dead gorgeous like Anna I am cute. With my deep red hair and an athletic build because of my training. Anyway, I adjust my smile and knock on the office door. “Come in” I open the door and yup there is Anna spread out on the desk.

“Hey here are those files you asked for and can you please approve the dinner menu for the pack and the Easter celebration plans while you are at it. I believe we will have the Setting Sun pack here as well as Golden Mountain pack from South Carolina to strengthen the alliances.” “That sound all good” Ej says between his grunts and Annas moans. “I trust you just do as you wish.” “Ummm yes that’s it baby go deeper.” I look at Anna and just shake my head. Ej eyes me with lust in his eyes “do you want to join I believe Anna has some more of the potion over there on the couch in her purse.”

I just look at him shocked for a moment before I regain my voice and decline the invitation. There is no f*****g way I will be betraying the mate bond with these two assholes. I turn to leave just as anna yells out her release. I hurried to the door and walked out.

I had finished the updates in record time. I was done in 2 days, so I had 5 days before I was scheduled to go back to the pack.

“We could go back and catch the b***h in action” Aries said. “Nah I want some time to think and plan our next moves” “well how about Vermont or even South Carolina Deacon is in Carolina.” “True I’ll call tom to see what’s up in Vermont make sure I am not intruding then and if not head that way. I don’t want to bother Deacon plus he’s due at Snow Mountain for the easter celebration, so we’ll see him then” “How are you doing Aries.” “Right as rain. Nothing that betrayer can do will dim my light.” “Good to hear.”

I called Thomas and got the ok from him and josh to head up to Vermont for my remaining days away from the pack. I arrived in Vermont right before dinner. The sleuth never ceased to amaze me. Little bear cubs running around, unlike wolves’ bear shifters are born in their animal spirit and they shift between the two at will from a young age. So instead of little toddlers running around it is normal to see cubs running around between humans and grizzlies or brown bears. I pulled up to the large log cabin that served as the pack house and entered. The smell of bake salmon hit me straight in the face. “ummm let eat I am starving” Aries said. I notice Josh and his mate Gabrielle at the head table next to Thomas and Gabrielle’s sister Lola. Josh waved me over and I made my way there.

“So, what’s been up bishop. Nothing same s**t different day josh.” “Yeah, well Thomas filled me in, and my home is yours for however long you need.” “It’s appreciated.”

See when s**t first started going down between me and Anna, Thomas was the first person I told. This isn’t the first time I been to Vermont because I have a w***e for a mate. And every time Josh and Gabrielle took care of me and Aries like were part of their pack.

“So, what’s the plan this time?” “I am only staying for about 4 days then I am heading back and rejecting her.” “Final-f*****g-ly”

Gabrielle yells making everyone in the dining hall look at us. I laugh as I head up to the buffet to get myself a plate before Aries takes over. Once I am back at my seat, we continue the conversation.

“Yeah, this last time was to much for Aries to take. Usually, we share the burden of the pain, but he knew I needed all my wits about me while I took care of the system updates. So, he took all the pain while I worked and it damn near wrecked him, so yeah for me and Aries wellbeing I am going to reject her. f**k finding out who she’s been with, f**k trying to salvage this s**t, it’s over.” “I am so sorry” Lola says. “I would never betray my mate like that when I find him.”

She looks directly at Thomas; Bear shifters find they mate at 18 like us wolves and since Lola is 17 and will be 18 in another month, she has been making it obvious that she thinks or hopes that Thomas is her mate. But he’s not he would have known if he is years ago. But no one wants to break her heart and tell her that. The rest of the conversation moves to other topics which I am happy to get off of my f****d-up love life. Once dinner is over me and Thomas head over to his cottage which is on the outskirts of the sleuths’ land.

“You know where to put your s**t” tom says as I head on up toward his spare bedroom. “So how are you really feel bro?” “I am actually good. I mean I never in my life thought my mate bond would be like what it is but it’s whatever. Maybe I am just meant to be alone.” “Are you going to stay in your brothers pack or go try to find another pack to be in.” “yeah right what f*****g alpha in they right mind will take on another alpha into their pack. especially one like me. I mean wolves are territorial and possessive as f**k. Nah my choices are clear I can leave but leave my pack bonds intact, so I don’t go feral, go rogue or try to start my own pack from scratch. None of those damn choices are appealing in anyway.” “Or you can become a part of the sleuth, I mean josh wouldn’t mind hell he already offered before.” “A wolf in a bear sleuth nah man. I don’t think the council would approve of that. You know they like to keep species separate. Wolves with wolves bears with bears witches with witches and so on and so forth. They aren’t any mixed packs, sleuths or coven nowhere on the east coast.” “True but that doesn’t mean it can’t happen we can be the first.” “Nah I wouldn’t put y’all in that type of a bind.” “I’ll figure s**t out. I have savings, thankfully I never gave anna access to my other accounts only my accounts where my checks from Monroe enterprises were deposited into. She has no clue about the offshore accounts my savings accounts and the rest of my money.” “s**t brother if she would have known you are a multi-millionaire all on your own without the pack resources. I doubt she would have cheated on you the money hungry heffa, would be on your ass like a barnacle on the bottom of a crab boat.” “You’re probably right but that makes this s**t even worse knowing that”.



I take the beer offered from toms’ hand and settle down on the sofa just thinking about s**t and going over my life up until this point. The silence is comfortable as Tex Mex Motors plays on the tv. The four days went by faster than I would have wanted. But it is what I needed. She stayed f*****g whomever the entire time. I guess what they say the mouse will play while the cats away is true. But today ends all that s**t. I removed all my funds from our joint accounts and took her name off any beneficiary paperwork for the company. It was finally time to pull the damn plug on this lifeless loveless ass mating.
