Chapter 22
April
I arrived at my mother's place in time for breakfast. She placed kisses on my cheeks after I dropped kinglee on the floor.
"Hey April" Mathew, my stepdad said as he emerged down the stairs.
"Hi Mathew" we hugged.
"Auntie!!!!!!" My ten years old step sister Mariah rushed into my arms as i bent down to accommodate her.
My mum ushered us to the dining after the greetings.
"How's work been?" Mathew asked
"Very good"
"And the matter so far with the lawsuit?"
"It's been taken care of."
We made conversations in between the delicious breakfast. When we finished eating, I helped take the dishes back to the kitchen sink alongside my mum and Mariah.
We all settled in the living room.
"Sophie mentioned you're dating someone"
I internally heaved a sigh.
"Yes"
