And boy…does she have something I want.
Cat’s eyes, the fiery, green doors to her soul, don’t waver from my face. She’s biting that deliciously full bottom lip of hers, and I almost lose the train of my thoughts, throw the towel in the ring, and f**k her senseless on her mother’s couch.
Down boy.
I remind myself of that phone call with Sean, about his idiotic ways of promising the impossible to housewives with low-cut, high-hemmed dresses.
“And what would that be?” she drawls, picking her lip, shifting one endlessly
long leg over the other, her ridiculous shorts showing off those thick, heavenly thighs.
I clear my throat and focus on the task at hand.
“A job, baby,” I say.
Cat sits up, a little noise tumbling from her lips as she bites back a smile.
Gorgeous little vixen.
“Mom already said she wants an experienced applicant with the right credentials and looks to fit into the planning agency,” Cat rattles.
I roll my eyes at Natalee’s words. I swear I can just hear her say them in my head.
“What’s that then, a honey blonde dye-job and some bullshit designer pantsuit to go with that?” I blurt out.
Cat’s eyes widen before she starts laughing.
“Oh, my god,” she exclaims. "You do know that you are talking about my mother, right?"
Fuck. I'm screwing up.
I'm ready to apologize and be awkward for the rest of the night when Catalina starts laughing maniacally, catching me off guard.
“You forgot about the subtle, not so subtle nip and tucks she’s got done,” Cat goes on. “And the Spanx, don’t forget the Spanx that are always a size too small to ensure the maximum snatching of the waist.” The way she rolls her eyes makes me join in the laughter. Hell, I almost forgot I’m married to this creature’s mother until…
“But hey,” she shrugs. “You married her, so I guess you’re not so perfect after all.” She says it with a hint of humor, as if there’s something about the way she looks at me that catches me off guard.
“Perfect?” I snort. “I’m hardly perfect.”
“Of course you’re not,” Catalina says dramatically. “You married Natalee Bonaventure. Clearly, there is something wrong with you.”
The mood seems to shift; my topic of discussion was swept off the table.
“I’m sorry,” she gasps suddenly after seeing my face. “I really shouldn’t have gone there…” The humorless chuckle and her averting her gaze make me want to hug her.
“No, you’re right.”
“I am?” Her green eyes are a little watery, her flirty behavior gone.
I kinda miss it.
“Your mother…” I take a deep breath in, not knowing where to start.
“Is a raging b***h who doesn’t love her daughter and abandoned me on more than one occasion.”
The hate and disappointment are palpable.
“Look…”
I shouldn’t. But I can’t help myself.
“I’ve been running around this idea for a while now, since I obviously do not recognize the woman I got proposed to by. I haven’t seen that fun, wild woman in way too long.” I start.
To say Catalina’s gaze is intense is a complete understatement. She’s hanging onto my every word.
I have to admit I like it. A lot.
“Oh f**k, you’re divorcing her,” she gasps knowingly. “And stop the f**k there,” she goes again, making me smile. “She f*****g proposed to you?” Her brows rise all the way up, making her look extremely comical.
“Stop saying ‘f**k’ so much, baby doll.” I blurt out.
“Why,” she asks, eyes gleaming. “Does it make you want to…fuck?”
God f*****g hell.
“Does your dirty mouth make me want to f**k my wife’s daughter?” I ask her, shaking my head. “Baby…don’t.”
I’m on my last resolve. My resistance is so weak I’m barely hanging on, Catalina’s hand on my thigh. I can feel her warmth through my jeans.
“Don’t, what, daddy?” she pouts, arms together, t**s looking phenomenal.
Fuck.
Suddenly, she’s sliding closer to me. I can smell her perfume, lavender on soft skin, arms around my neck as if she’s going in for a hug.
“Does f*****g your ex-wife’s daughter make it sound any better to you?” she purrs into my ear, the words making their way down my f*****g bloodstream, c**k hard and ready for her.
