It's a New day. The light of the early sunlight lit up the streets of Kansas City and conveyed a pearly glow to the sky as the chorus of melodic birdsong drifted in. Anabel was yet to get over the worrisome call she received from the kidnappers. “Why would they abduct my sons?” She mumbled in anguish and wept uncontrollably. It was 8 am, and Anabel was still rolling on both sides of her bed, drowning in her pool of tears. Now, she doesn't even care about her job. Her boss won't stop calling her phone to know why she hasn't shown up yet. Nothing ever matters to her anymore. It's been 24hrs since the kids were kidn*pped from school, still, the cops are yet to trace the kidnappers. Her entire savings wasn't enough to pay the ransom requested by the abductors. She was hoping for a miracle.
“Ding dong” Anabel's bell rang from the living room.
"Please go away. I don't wanna see anyone. I just want my boys back home,” She screamed from her room, but the visitor wouldn't go away as the bell kept ringing. This time, Anabel couldn't ignore and was compelled to go check who was at the door. “Told you I wasn't ready to…” She halted after seeing Lady Macbeth at her entrance.
“Didn't know it was you. Please come in,” She apologized. Her nostrils flared as she welcomed her in.
“So, what's the update on your missing sons? Have the cops been able to trace the kidnappers?” With the deepest concern, Lady Macbeth asked.
"The cops? Those Incompetent bastards. It's 24hrs since those boys were kidn*pped and the cops are yet to find the kidnappers. Doesn't even make any sense. Now they asking for $50k before my boys will be freed. Where do I get such an outrageous amount from? To be honest with you, ma'am. I'm just hoping for a miracle.”
Lady Macbeth's brows pulled up together In a frown as she turned to face Madeline fully, “You look pale. I bet you haven't had breakfast. I could go get you some if you wish,”
"Food? I lost my appetite the day my boys got missing. I just want my boys back. Why is this happening to me? Those boys are innocent. Who knows if they're being starved right now? Perhaps, they might have fallen ill or something. What do I do? Gosh!” Anabel fumed, hitting her hands on a wooden stool, scattering her documents on the ground. She couldn't be controlled. Lady Macbeth applied all possible means to get her at peace, but she couldn't.
"Now, you need to calm down. You're losing it. Crying your balls out won't bring back your kids. What's the way out now? That's what we should be concerned about. Finding a solution!” Lady Macbeth moved closer to Anabel to console her.
"I honestly don't know. I'm equally confused as you are. I can't even afford $20k presently, let alone $50k ransom. And the cops aren't doing anything either. They keep feeding me with lies and fake promises. I knew they shouldn't be trusted. Bunch of fools!”
"Now this is crazy. Poor kids.” Lady Macbeth sighed and pitied Anabel. She was once a victim of such circumstances, so she could imagine how hurt Anabel is right now. Years ago, Lady Macbeth lost her husband and son in an auto-crash, leaving her shattered and heartbroken. She still hasn't moved on from that unfortunate incident. The dreadful memory lives rent-free in her head.
"Well, I might know someone who would help you find your sons and bring them home alive without paying a dime. I mean, If the cops aren't doing their jobs, someone else can,” Lady Macbeth suggested, allaying Anabel's fear.
"You do? What are we waiting for? Where does he live? What's his name? What's the price?” She questioned in excitement. Anxiety enclosed her as she couldn't wait to meet with this person.
"Why the rush? I can't recall his name, but some say he's a billionaire Alpha of some blood moon pack here in Kansas. He owns a multi-billion dollar oil company and aside from that, some “ Save the Children program” this foundation is saddled with the responsibility of rescuing children from abductors. I haven't met with him before, but trust me, some say he's the best in the game. He has rescued a total of 500 kids from kidnap, child trafficking, and abuse. Yours isn't an exception. And guess what? It's free! You don't have to pay a dime. I need to go speak with a friend to book an appointment with him. I'll be back in less than an hour. Promise!” Giving a detailed explanation about this Alpha, Anabel was convinced her sons would be found pretty soon. Though she hasn't met with this Alpha somehow, she trusts his capability.
"Should I come with you already? I can go upstairs and go change to something better,”
"That won't be necessary. Just hold on a bit. I'll be back,” Lady Macbeth replied, making an upraised hand to stop Anabel from coming closer.
************
30 minutes have gone, and Lady Macbeth hasn't returned yet. This worries Anabel a lot, as she believed Lady Macbeth was taking too much time to show up. For every minute that passes, Anabel is scared her boys are exposed to danger. Just when she thought all hope was lost, Lady Macbeth came knocking again, this time with good news. “I already booked an appointment with him. He asked us to come. So hurry, we leave this moment,”
"The best news I've heard in a while. How do I repay this kindness you've shown me? Please hold on a sec while I go wear something nice,” for the first time in 24hr, Anabel finally smiled as she rushed to change her wears. Hurriedly, they stepped out and drove off to blood moon pack, a few miles away from her residence. At five minutes to 12, they pulled up next to a six-story cream-colored building with high arched doorways and windows graced by metallic grilles.
"You see, all the houses here are old mansions. It is a very exclusive neighborhood.” Lady Macbeth whispered as they were received by 3 hefty men, dressed in black.
“Stay back while we go notify the Alpha of your presence,” One of the men disclosed, as he walked away.
“I welcome y'all. Be assured, your kids would be found and brought home safely.” Speaking from behind as walking in their direction was a baritone voice, supposedly the Alpha in charge of the pack.
To Anabel's greatest shock, she saw her rejected mate; her past standing in front of her, which sent shivers of mingled thrill and fear down her spine. Her past, who has now become a wealthy Alpha, is quite influential, powerful, and fierce. The only man she ever loved, the father of her triplet. The same Dominique rejected her. Stunned by his presence, Anabel was left speechless, leaving her mouth widened In a fly-catching position. Her eyes glittered at him in a way that simultaneously scared the crap out of her, “So it's you? I can't believe this!” Anabel frowned and walked out as hot tears streamed down her eyes. Before Dominique could utter a word, Anabel was long gone, leaving him with a million questions to ponder.
