I sat in incredibly comfortable chair, taking in the pleasant fragrance that filled the office. His office always smelled amazing and was decorated with countless luxurious items. That’s to be expected from a man like him, right? By “wealthy,” I mean the owner and CEO of FG Entertainment, a man with multiple business ventures, the richest person in the country, and the third richest in the world.
The only reason he isn’t number one is because he donates fifty percent of his income to help those in need, building schools and hospitals across different countries and funding other charitable causes. He has so much wealth that he could stop working today and still live the rest of his life in luxury, leaving behind a massive fortune for generations. Isn’t that admirable?
If I were in his position, I wouldn’t have to struggle so hard to make money, right? This man inspires me to want more from life.
Every time I look at him, I’m reminded that I haven’t reached my goals yet, but there’s still room to grow, as long as I keep working harder. I’ve always looked up to him as my motivation. Sitting in front of him boosts my confidence in a way I can’t explain. It makes me feel like the luckiest person alive. Even though others have spent more time with him, I’ve known him since I was fifteen and now, at twenty-five, it still feels special to sit alone with him, like there’s something deeper in the connection we share.
He has been the breakthrough behind so many K-pop artists and actors, guiding them just like he guided my band and many others who are now successful. If I had to sum it up, this man understands talent and he knows exactly how to find it. Who wouldn’t admire someone like that? There was a time I wanted to become a professional dancer, but after meeting him and having just one conversation, I changed my mind almost immediately.
He’s incredibly famous, yet almost nothing is known about his family. I’d even say he’s one of the most private men in the world. Even we, his artists, know barely anything maybe only his two personal guards who are always with him, and perhaps a maid at his house. That’s another thing I admire about him.
Many celebrities expose their families to the media, forcing their children to grow up surrounded by bodyguards and constant attention from paparazzi. But his family lives in complete privacy, they can move around freely, like normal people, without being recognized.
I think that’s the best way to protect them. And he protects us too making sure we’re comfortable, and that our personal lives remain private.
“How are you doing, Evel? It’s been quite a while,” he finally said, pulling me back to the present. He was right. It had been some time since we last spoke personally. Even though we work under his company, we rarely see him unless it’s something important.
“I’m doing well, sir. It’s good to see you,” I replied, trying to hide my nerves.
“Before we continue, can I get you something? Coffee, water, or anything you prefer?” he asked. I had expected that question. Honestly, all I wanted was water. “Yes, water, please,” I answered. I chose water because I’ve noticed he always drinks it. I’ve never seen him ask for anything else. When I said it, he looked at me and smiled. Maybe I’m becoming more like him.
“So, how’s everything? How’s your music? I hope you’re making progress with your solo song. I want something magnificent breathtaking. Something the audience will love, something timeless… something they won’t get enough of. I've spoken to the other three members individually and told them the same thing: focus on this. Remember, this time you’re working alone, not as a group like you’re used to. So don’t let us down. I’m rooting for you.....and the others too, I'm rooting for each one of you, it's been a long journey” He spoke with seriousness, and I could feel the weight behind every word. This man motivates me more with every sentence he speaks. He makes me want to push myself further, to be better.
“Yes, sir. I won’t let you down. And I’m sure the others won’t either. Everyone is working hard, and I believe what we’re creating will be worth the wait.”
“I trust you… and I know you won’t disappoint me,” he said, his voice softer now.
“I’ve always believed in you. Your group proved me right ten years ago… I’d choose you all over and over again. And I see each of you as my sons…” He chuckled, but the pride in his voice was unmistakable.
I nodded. He had every right to call us that.
He had been with us for ten years, guiding us, shaping us into the men we are today. In many ways, he felt more like a parent than a boss. I’m sure the others felt the same. We had sold out arenas, secured major brand deals, and each of us had become global ambassadors for powerful companies, all because of him. Suddenly, his gaze shifted to the CCTV screen.
“Come in…” he said, glancing at his watch. A young woman walked in carrying a tray with two bottles of water and two glasses. She carefully placed a glass in front of me and another in front of Mr. Chin, followed by the bottles beside them. Throughout the entire process, Mr. Chin watched her closely.
She looked to be in her mid-thirties. Once she finished, she picked up the tray, ready to leave.
“Wait a minute…” Mr. Chin said. She froze, tension immediately visible in her posture. “Use the chance while you can,” he continued calmly. “I know if I weren’t here, you would have already asked for a picture… so take one and make it quick.”
I couldn't believe my ears. Was he actually giving her permission to do that? Well, each day you see a new side of him.
