9;Busy days

I spent the entire weekend in my house. I stayed indoors and didn’t step outside at all. I didn’t even write a song. I just felt like staying like that, doing nothing, thinking about nothing, just sleeping and waking up without any pressure. It felt so peaceful that I even wished that if I ever lived again in another life, I’d come back as a stone. The weekend helped me relax, and for once, I wasn’t thinking about anything serious. I even went live on Weverse, talking to the Angels, that’s what we call our fandom. I went live for two days straight, and I have to admit, it made me feel happier and lighter. One of the lives went on for almost five hours. I talked with them, sang, joked around, and even flirted a little. I am where I am because of them, no, we are where we are because they’ve supported us since the beginning. Talking to them made me forget everything that had been bothering me, and I felt at ease again. It feels good when millions of people show you love and support, right? To me, they’re not just fans, they feel like family. Even though I don’t know them personally, all I feel toward the Angels is genuine love. After the weekend, everything got busy again. I returned to the dorm and got back to work as usual. One thing about me is that I adapt quickly, so it wasn’t too hard. I had a lot to do especially writing my solo song and I also had to help my bandmates with theirs. Woojin, our main dancer, was the first to release his solo song. He finished it within a month, and the result was beyond what we expected. The song went viral immediately after release, and we couldn’t have been happier for him. I had seen how exhausted he was during the process. Sometimes he even told me he couldn’t sleep because he kept thinking about the song. He worked so hard for it, and I was glad it paid off. Two weeks later, Minjae released his song. Just like Woojin’s, it became a hit instantly. He had worked just as hard, and honestly, there was no doubt it would turn out great. It was trending everywhere after release. Now only Shin and I were left. But Shin was more nervous than I was. I understood him we were in the same situation. I wasn’t even done with my song, but strangely, I wasn’t that worried. I was more concerned about him. He’s my best friend, and seeing him this anxious wasn’t easy. We were all there to support him, right? We stayed with him during his studio sessions and even during the video shoot. “Hey…” I walked up to him when he was given a short break. We were at the shooting set for his video. “Hi…” he replied quietly. I sat beside him and patted his shoulder. “You know you have the best voice in the group, right? I trust you, and we all trust you. We’re here for you, so you don’t need to worry.” He nodded. But he wasn’t smiling. “Can’t you at least smile? You’re making me feel like I’m terrible at this kind of talk,” I said. That made him laugh. “You are terrible at it,” he said. “I don’t even know how you manage to say those things. Not very good… but I’m happy. Happy that you guys are here supporting me, even if you s*ck at encouraging people.” I could tell he was about to cry. He’s a crybaby. “Come on, I’m trying to comfort you and you’re mocking me? That’s insensitive,” I said, wiping the tears from his eyes. “Yeah… thank you,” he whispered. I hugged him. I wanted him to feel it, that we would always be there. Somehow, that hug turned into a group hug. But honestly, it felt good. Shin loves being cared for, and I could tell that moment lifted his mood. “This is the last day of your shoot, right?” Woojin said. “I’ll treat you guys to a good meal tonight. Drinks included too.” He smirked. “I saw someone go live on Weverse with a beer mug filled to the top… bro, you’ll have to explain that one. You looked heartbroken.” Of course he had to bring that up. “I think that’s enough,” I cut in quickly. “Shin needs to get ready.” Shin left after hugging us again. “But seriously… I like your courage,” Minjae whispered to me. I slapped his back lightly. I still don’t know why they thought going live drunk in front of millions was a good idea. “If you want to get scolded… try going live while drunk,” I told them. They immediately went quiet. I didn’t even tell them I had already been scolded for it. The shoot wrapped up in the evening. I felt relieved for Shin. The past few days had been hard on him, and I knew he hadn’t been sleeping well. I could see the relief in his eyes. Now all that was left was editing and the official MV release. Still, I knew he was worried. “Shin… you have to help me,” I said, pulling him aside. “I’m not done with my song yet.” “What?” he stared at me. “You’re joking, right?” He looked even more stressed now. “Are you serious? Do you know how bad that is? Mr. Chin won’t like that at all. Why are you like this?” Now he was scolding me. “Guys, not now,” Minjae interrupted. “Let’s just go back to the dorm, freshen up, and order food.” “Don’t forget the beer,” Shin added, glancing at me. Why do they think I’m obsessed with alcohol? Still… free beer is free beer. I just smiled. “Look at that smile,” Woojin laughed. “Someone’s too happy about beer. What turned you into this kind of drinker?” I ignored them and walked to the car. When we’re together, we usually use one car. Minjae drove, Woojin sat in front, and I sat in the back with Shin. But he wasn’t talking to me. I tried starting a conversation, but he barely responded only answering when the others spoke. He was still upset. When we got back, everyone went to their rooms to freshen up. I went to the living room about an hour later. I was the first there, so I turned on a movie on Netflix. They must have heard it because they all came in and sat on the floor, leaning against the couch. Food arrived shortly after. I stuck to KFC chicken and a few mugs of beer. The others looked like they were forcing themselves to drink, it was honestly funny to watch. Except Shin. He was drinking like it was water. That wasn’t normal. He’s a lightweight. I quickly took the mug from his hand. “Hey… stop, okay?” I looked at the others. “I think I should take him to his room.”They nodded. They had noticed it too.He was drinking way more than any of us.
