The Accident

Nicholas POV:

As the night went on, the guys are getting drunker. Dom and Bronx have women in their lap already, eating their faces like there's no tomorrow, but me, my minds are somewhere... everywhere...

"You okay man?' Alexander interrupted my thoughts.

"Yeah man, I'm okay are you? I asked him, frowning.

"Yeah, of course, bro" he said thoughtfully. "Do you think we can find what Blaze says about earlier?" He asked again. "Honestly man, I do not know" I said smirking.

"I just can't believe that bastard ditched us and out of nowhere he is getting married in a month," he said mumbling.

"Well, we are not getting younger anymore, we're thirty-two already. Do you want to die alone? Don't you want to have children, A wife that will cook your favorite comfort food during winter?" I asked him attentively. He just looked up me smirking and say "I don't know man, look, we both are a cold-hearted bastard, when was the last time you do the love thing? When was the last time you sent someone a gift or a flower? when was your last date? Because me? Pointing to himself, "I can't remember those things at all" while he twirling the ice in the glass of his drinks.

And that thing hit me. Yes, I can't remember all those things also. I just grew up changing women up and down like it's nothing. I never ever dated someone, all of them are one nightstand. I never sent a flower also. I only sent those to my Mom during special occasions, My mother loves flowers.

What kind of woman could fall for me? I am a heartless, devil, cold man! My Parents knew it already, to the point that my mom gives up asking me when I'm going to settle down. She's been asking for a grandchild, as an only child, she said I was obliged to give her those. But where am I going to find a woman that will love me for who I am and not for what I have? Besides married life is not my thing. I glance at my wristwatch It's 45 minutes after 11 in the evening. I put down my glass reach my wallet and hand down some hundred dollar bills on the table.

"Guys, I called it a night. You all be good here?" I asked them. "I have some work to do early morning tomorrow" I added, knowing that they all know me when it comes to drinking and clubbing! They know me as a Partygoer man, leaving a club without a woman is a big mystery already. They expect me to have a woman in my arms tonight, but all of a sudden I lost my appetite.

"Whoa! No Girls, leaving early? What happens to you" Alexander asked sarcastically.

"I bought Conti's Corporation, we are signing the papers tomorrow, " I said proudly. Yeah, Jake Contis, Ederson shitty son's. That poor old man, the legacy he builds are thrown for nothing. Jake sells the company without remorse. I can't say no, the textile business is a good business and Contis Corporation has its good reputation already I will just swim in a good and fresh start to that company. I will meet all the employees next Monday. I asked Jake to retain all the Employees since they know the way already, I might implement new protocol and rules to them for a safety measure and purposes.

"WHAT?!" the four of them said in unison and smiled at me devilishly.

"What? As In Ederson Contis? Dom asked me like he cannot believe it. I can't blame him, Ederson Contis was one of the reputable business in New York.

"Yes, Dom, the one and only Contis Corp." I answered him while smirking.

"You own half of New York already and the entire country of Greece what else do you want? It's time for you to settle down too bro, then I might follow too" Bronx said amused.

"The way you said that, as if you are not scared of responsibility," I told him playfully while shaking my head.

I just stared at them one more time and leave the club with so much thought in my head.

I just drive around to clear my thoughts. 'I don't do girlfriends' I mutter to myself dryly, gripping the steering wheel tightly. I was in deep thought that I did not notice the woman crossing the street! A loud thud was all I heard after stepping the brakes abruptly. 'Oh God, please tell me she's alive' I prayed mentally! I rushed to open the door and check the woman. 

"Miss are you okay?" I mentally punch myself! Of course, she is not okay! You just bumped her! I scolded myself. "Please stay still I'm calling for help!" I panicked. I saw a café nearby and yell for help! But I don't think they hear me. The door of the cafe was closed and I cant see people inside. If there's any I don't think they are brave enough to go out and help. This is New York crime is everywhere.

The woman is not more than 5 feet 2 inches tall. A petite curvy body, long hair and have the most beautiful greyish brown eyes. Oh God, for Pete's sake the woman is in pain and here I am admiring her beauty! I held her in my arms. She was about to answer me, but her beautiful eyes were closing already. "Please stay with me, don't you dare close your eyes, "I said in an alarm voice and carry her in my car going to the hospital! I drove to the hospital like lightning... I called the Guys and informed them of my mishap and asked them to meet me in the hospital.

I was outside of the ER waiting for the guys. All Along I kept praying that she should be alright and held my head in my hands. Everything happened in a swift moment and I still couldn't process the fact that I hit, I bumped an innocent woman because I did not pay attention while driving the stupid car! s**t! I muttered to myself.

"You okay Bro? What happened?" I saw Alex and the other guys rushing towards me. "I bumped an innocent woman Bro. I said shaking my head like an i***t! And start explaining to them, all over again.

"It's fine, let's hope for the best. How is she? Dom asks.

"The Doctors were treating her already, I just don't have an idea how badly she was hurt," I said 'and it was killing me inside and I do not know why' I added muttered to myself.

"And I informed her sister already, I found the details in her bag, she should be here any minute," I told them. "Look, guys, I'm so sorry. I ruined your night, I just can't believe I just bumped her like that" I said to them in a regret sad tone.

"Hey, "Bro's before Hoes" remember? Alex banter and I smile under these tragic mishaps I caused.
