“Don’t cry baby, everything will be ok. Jared will be ok. I know that you need to be there, and I understand. Please call me if you need anything from me at all. Please just keep me updated,” Toni said as she listened to Janice sob on the other end.
“I am so sorry Toni; I hope that you do understand. I promise I will call you soon,” Janice said apologetically before ending the call.
Janice was sincere in hoping that Toni understood the decision she had to make. As much as she wanted to spend the weekend with Toni, she had to be certain that Jared was going to be alright.
Toni knew that Janice had to be there regardless of what was going on between them, she knew her, and Jared had history, and she respected that. Toni, unlike many people was far from a selfish individual.
