Chapter 12
Back in San Francisco, Jared rented an apartment on a short-term lease and was preparing to be in court for the next few months. His blackmailer had bailed out of jail the day after her arrest, just like his lawyers said that she might. His first court date was set for the next day for the custody of their four-year-old child Jonah.
His lawyers were confident that he had a good chance of obtaining full custody so much so that Jared had bought him tons of clothes, toys, and four birthday cards to present to him, representing each birthday that he had missed.
He knew it would be hard being a single dad and for Jonah to come around to getting to know him, but what he knew for a fact was that he was going to do right by him, something that his mother had not done.
