The news on the MBC—Manderian Broadcasting Corporation—aired a special edition, dedicated to the murder of Tal Plinn Corbol, when Halazar came around. As she tumbled fully into wakefulness, she spotted a nurse standing by her hospital bed; white sheets covered her n***d body, and the woman’s attention was totally grabbed by the news.
Halazar’s head pounded as if a band of drummers played in the room next to her. She found it hard to remember how she ended up in a hospital in the first place. Besides the massive migraine, her body ached any time she moved a muscle, as if high voltage had bolted her.
Then what caused her discomfort came to her. Salin had used a taser on her. Twice.
Somehow, I survived his murder attempt.
