23 - Eleanor
Digging deep down memory lane, the events at Nira felt as real as the sensation of being expelled from Claire’s womb. Eleanor was Maka, but at the same time she wasn’t. She was there as Maka, but also outside her, as an independent conscience witnessing the events.
After leaving the lab where the last eight eggs were stored, Maka and her mother should have headed directly back to Cursa. However, Claire wanted to stop at Nira station, her excuse being always the same—to relax for a few days. But Maka knew the truth, and so did Eleanor; Claire wanted to meet Ryma Waters, and without doubt, Nira Station was the right place to look for her or other Augments.
Maka knew how that would end, but her mother didn’t listen to her and she wasn’t strong enough to impose her will.
