Chapter 2

Mia got up from bed early in the morning to prepare for work that very day. She walked to the bathroom where she took off all her clothes and hopped into the shower to take her bath and also brush her teeth. When she was done she was still in her towels when she walked to her bed and picked up her laptop and placed a facetime call across to her best friend Melissa Ortega from college. Melissa is a currently a successful surgeon and is practising abroad. Melissa finally picked up the call.

"Hi girl!" Melissa said with a cup of coffee in her hands. "How are you?".

In excitement mia replied "I'm good girl owh I'm so so good".

"Mmm what's with the excitement and how was the charity event yesterday?" With curiosity.

"That's what I'm trying to tell you! Yesterday was perfect!. So guess what?! Asides the fact that I successfully sold my artwork, It was the highest selling one by the way! Courtesy of... Would I say a Prince charming?...."

"Wait wait wait!" Melissa stopped her right there. " You met someone?".

"Owh yeah I did. He saved my life. Even tho I almost missed that chance because I was in a hurry. A very confident man with a very good taste in fashion. I tripped and almost fell dropping my piece. Then he was just there right in time!! He saved me!!" With sparkles in her eyes. Holding her hands under her cheeks while searching through her closet for an outfit for the day.

While Melissa was talking she picked out a very comfortable ankle length colorful maxi dress with a cute denim jacket and casual sneakers. On her way down to the kitchen to make breakfast, She came downstairs with her laptop while on facetime with her bestie.

"I'm honestly so happy for you! Finally! Enough of this whole independent single woman life. Finally you can start dating! But then did you get his number or anything?"

"Owh yeah if course I did. How can I forget that important aspect. He even took me out on something he called a celebration dinner. Of course I know that was just our first date".

"Awwn.This is going somewhere. I'm so happy for you. So tell me what's he like?". "Okay so he's tall like really tall with broad shoulders like an athletic build. "Owh wait there's a there's someone at the door. Let me get it., hang on!" She yelled.

She casually skipped to the door in a hurry to check who that was she she opened the door it was a man in a dark blue t-shirt wearing a face cap with a large bouquet of roses in his hand. Starring in the hard board he had in his hand he said "for Miss Mia Greene?" In a depressing voice. He handed it over to her and she collected it sniffing it gently.

"Please ma'am sign here and here pointing on the lower part of the books. She quickly dropped her signature.

"thank you and have a great day". "Thank you! With a big smile on her face. She shut the door. Slowly walking away from the door she read the little note that was attached to the flower.

"Love from Alex, you're friend from last night".

She was already blushing so hard she couldn't hold in her joy. She walked faster to the kitchen counter to the front of her laptop to show her bestie Melissa the gift she just received. "Who's that from?" Melissa asked. "You know who! Alex of course! He sent me flowers on this beautiful morning. Today is going to be a great day I'm sure." I'm so excited.

"Oh Mia!!. This is the beginning of a beautiful love story. I wish I was there I would have given you a very very big tight hug. You deserve a man who will treat you right. But also don't forget to be careful okay?."

"Thank you Melissa. Don't worry I'll be careful."

"Also I'm so so sorry I couldn't be at the auction. I'm so so sorry I missed it".

"Don't worry it's fine. I completely understand. Plus I don't expect you to just take a flight all the way from Dubai to LA just for an auction.

"You know it's not just an auction plus I would have loved to be around in person while you're being in love and everything. I've been praying for this day to come, hehehe" she chuckled.

"Okay Mel. I need to start preparing to leave here to the studio. I'll call you later okay?.

"Okay! Love you". Then she hung up.

While on the call, mia was already getting dressed. Her beautiful maxi dress showed off her beautiful sexy body. She had curly hair. All she did was put on some hair accessories and then apply highlighter and lip gloss. She looked simple yet stunning and sexy. She got into her car and drove herself to the studio. While on her way to the studio. She got a call. From an unknown number. Luckily she had her earbuds in ak she just spoke to her phone as she drove the car.

"Hello?!, Mia Greene how may I help you?"

"Morning mia,it's Alex from last night.". She immediately recognized his smooth baritone. "Hi Alex! How are you?" With a big smile on her face. "Owh I'm well. I hope your received your flowers?"

"Yes i did. They were lovely and they smelled really really nice. And I love roses".

"I'm glad you loved them. Beautiful roses for a beautiful lady like you". This statement put a very big smile on her face.

Alex had a very sweet tongue and usually always rains compliments on mia. All these qualities made mia love him even more.

"So I would love to see you today. Is that okay?." He asked demanding for a visit.

"Mm yeah I'll send you the address okay".

"Okay then talk to you later".

Mia got to her studio. As the boss lady that she is, once she walked in everybody began to greet and compliment Mia.

Mia is a very kind hearted and compassionate woman. Very generous and caring and is loved by all. She's an independent woman deep empathy for others. She's also quirky and humorous with a playful spirit.

She walked straight to her office and sat down after exchanging pleasantries with her employees. She gave off a breathe of relief. She opened her laptop and began to check out the files of art pieces that have already been sold scanning through the records of their profits and losses. Few hours later Her secretary came in with a glass of coffee

"Hi ma'am may I .." yea sure come in. How are you!". "I'm good ma'am. Here's your daily coffee. Also here are some of the documents you requested for. I've sent the message to the accountant. Also you have a visitor".

"Owh a visitor? Okay let the person in". Her assistant walked out with a file in her hands while Mia kept digging through her files.

**Knock knock**

"Hiiii". Alex greeted.

"Hi oh my gosh Alex, sorry I've been busy since today it completely skipped my mind that you'd be coming." She quickly stood up from her chair and walked over to Alex and gave him a big hug. "how are you and how's works and everything?" Mia asked.

"Owh everything is fine. I actually just stepped out Luke right now. I'll go back home from here. Afterall I am the boss so I just decided to come feast my eyes with your beauty. You look stunning! Beautiful as always. I love your dress it's perfect." Alex said with a smile on his face. Also here you forgot your scarf in the car yesterday"

"Awwwn" she chuckled "thank you so much Alex you're so sweet I didn't even realize I forgot it".

Handing over a Fancy bag to her it had pasta and Vegetables sauce with a tiny bouquet of roses. "I got something for you, he said with a cute smile on his face.

"Oh my gosh Alex!!!" With a level of happiness. She just thought of how thoughtful and caring Alex was.

"Last time at the restaurant I saw that you really liked the pasta at the restaurant. You wouldn't stop talking about it so I just got you same thing I'm sure you'll like it".

"I love it Alex. I love you!!" She received the bag from him, dropped in on the table in her office and leaped onto his shoulders for a big hug!.

She slowly moved back from the hug and began starring into his eyes. He was starring too. There was a spark between the two love birds. Alex held her by the waiste and pulled her in closer. He seeked consent. "May I?"
