The Goddess

217 Words
Hunter returned to the woods seeking the Goddess. She seemed to be everywhere in the trees, the grass beneath him, the wind cooling his skin. 'Mighty Hunter you have returned', she said. 'I need your advice, lady Goddess', he said. He told her about the dream in detail. 'Some dreams are omens of what will be. Others live out our anxiety. Some feed off horrors of our own making. Which this dream was is entirely up to you. Trust you instinct, it serves you well', her voice was little more than a sound rushing through the leaves. 'I fear the pack will not accept Willow',He said. 'Is it your fear she will not be accepted, or that you know she will not be accepted and are afraid of the consequences?',She said. As usual she knew already he thought. 'What if I lose my pack?', he said anguished. 'Who would you rather be with those who accept you and your decisions. Who choose to fight at your side and guard your back always. Or those who do not have your best interests at heart?',the Goddess said. 'Why does it have to become a choice? The pack are all I've ever known', he said. 'The path known and the path untraveled', she sighed. 'Be true to yourself, mighty Hunter'.
