Imagine you are away from this place and the time is long ago. Really picture what I'm telling you.

Her voice sounds in my ear, but she has no physical presence.

There is a hidden away castle, it appears run down and rambling. See past the rock, the building inside. There lives a maiden beautiful by day and a hideous creature by night. For sometime her lover has come to her, at her request during the day.

He yearns for her, wants to take her away to his kingdom. She refuses, until one day she says to him. 'Come tomorrow before nightfall, I have a question to ask you. If you answer correctly, I will leave with you. If you answer correctly I will commit myself to you always.

Her lover left her with a light heart, confident she would be his, body and soul shortly. He returned to her when she had asked him. He watched unbelieving as she turned into the hideous creature. 'This happens every night?', He asks. The maiden nods her head sadly.

'What question do you need to ask?',he asked. 'Which would you rather have me by, day or by night?',she said. 'By day my lady as your beauty out shines all else and the creature you turn into at night frightens me to my core', he said speaking the truth plainly as he could.

'Are not both parts, part of me. You wouldn't accept all of me and shall have none', she sadly turned from him. Her lover left never to return and could never of even guessed at the correct answer.

The correct answer said the goddess is to give the maiden her sovereignty. Ask which form she would prefer as it is her body and her soul.
