The stables were quiet; everyone was waiting for us at the gates, we had to hurry. Benyst walked down the stalls to the very back.
“He’s here! Cloud, my old friend.”
Benyst led the biggest horse I’ve ever seen from the stall. Granted I haven’t seen a lot of horses, but even my uneducated eyes could tell this was a massive beast.
“Benyst, he’s huge! I can’t ride him!”
“Cloud is the most intelligent animal I have ever known. There is no better beast for you on this day.”
“He’s beautiful.” Noiryn stepped forward, and Cloud bent his head towards her, she patted his nose softly with webbed fingers.
“Okay, let’s do this,” I said.
