34 The ocean has a distinct smell, it's unlike any other smell out there, it hits your nostrils like a wake-up call, a beautiful slap in the face from something primal and exotic, fearful and inspiring all at once. And when that ocean smell is accompanied by warm air and the sound of waves, there are few things more serene. All this filled my senses in the brief moment before I opened my eyes and looked at the Sirens’ world. In fact, I waited for a second longer than usual, long enough with the warm breeze on my body and the salt water in my nose for Royal to say; “Damn." My eyes shot open.
