Chapter 3

1732 Words
"What the f**k am I going to do?" Tristian thought as he was sitting in his office. He was pissed, irritated, sexually frustrated and many other emotions wrapped into one. His life mate showed up here and what did he do? Acted like a complete jackass and pissed her off too.     It's really simple what you need to do you know? Leo, his bear, said sarcastically      "Oh really, and what is that?"     Simple. Woo her, make her fall in love with us, tell her about me, make her ours, mark and mate her!      "No...Not happening. Nice try though."     And why not?! She is OUR mate!     "Yes, she is. She is also the liaison officer here with our jobs and only going to be here temporarily. Once she is done training us, she goes back to Quantico, which is a 31 hour drive from here. Also, we are the boss here over our crew. We have to be diplomatic about this. We can't risk the guys safety and job security over her. And the biggest thing.....She is a human!!!"     You are an i***t. You know that right?      "No...I've actually got my thoughts straight unlike you. Your thoughts are solely on marking and mating with her."     Whatever...You are an i***t. End of story.     "And I'm blocking you out. I've got work to do and you are being ridiculous."     While most bear shifters inner bear stay silent until they meet their lifemate and have cubs, Tristian's family is from the original line of bear's, therefore he is stuck with his rather talkative bear Leo. While Leo has been a phenomenal inner voice of reason during sticky situations, most of the time he likes to harass Tristian and his choices.      While sitting at his desk, trying to complete some work and ignore Leo's grumbling about he is a moron, a knock on the door broke him out of his trance as Hunter and the rest of the crew came strolling in.     "What?"      "Oh nothing. Just thought you should take a look at the beach area." Hunter said with a smirk.     Intrigued, Tristian spun around in his chair and stood up to look out the window while the crew snuck behind him to watch as well.     Glancing around for a quick second to see what was up, he finally caught what they were talking about. Walking towards the beach area in a hot pink bikini that tightly hugged her curves in all the right places, Alexandria was going out to sunbathe. Her wavy chestnut brown hair that hung almost to her waist was flowing in the light breeze. As Tristian and the guys watched her lay down a beach towel, he caught a glimpse of her perfect cleavage. Fighting the urge to growl, he stood there like a statue, watching the beautiful goddess as she laid there listening to music.     She is perfect. Go down now!     "Shut up Leo. I already told you, we can't!"     Hmpf....You can't, but if I take control.....     "Don't you dare asshole. I'll bind your happy ass if I have to! Now be quiet!"     Leo finally calmed down a bit, but once him and Tristian caught wind of what the guys were saying...It took everything in Tristian to keep Leo from snapping.     "Fifty bucks says I can get her to go on a date before you!" Jason challenged.     "You're on man! Get ready to pay up!" Brantley accepted.     "I've got a hundred saying she turns both you idiots down." Hunter said.     "This will be easy. Get ready to lose Hunter!" Jason said proudly.     "Absolutely not. There will be zero fraternization with First Lieutenant Carter and no betting on who can or can't take her on a date. You know the rules." Tristian firmly replied while Leo kept growling in his head.     "Oh come on, you can't be serious?" Hunter asked, clearly irritated by his bosses tone.     "Dead serious. No one is to try to take her on a date or to woo her. She is only going to be here a few weeks. Lets keep this rolling so she can get out of here and we can go back to normal."     "Fine.....Come on guys. Let's go before Captain Buzzkill here decides to stop us from having any more fun. Who's up for beer pong!?" Hunter said, clearly pissed and trying to challenge Tristian.     Tristian scowled at them as they walked out the door and let out a deep breath he didn't even realize his body was holding in. Turning back around to the window, he looked down at Alexandria and wanted to do nothing more than go put on his swim trunks and go lay by her. Imaging his hand running up and down her beautiful curves while he felt the sparks dancing across her gorgeous sun kissed skin.     Shaking his head to get rid of the lust in his head. He swiftly turned around, shut his laptop, and headed towards his room. He needed a cold shower and fast before he did something he couldn't turn back from.     You know....Just a quick walk to the beach wouldn't hurt.     "Absolutely not. Nice try though. And keep your salacious thoughts to yourself." he quickly replied and shut out Leo before he decided to put any more dirty thoughts into his head.     As Tristian hit the second level of the base where his room quarters were located, he was stopped dead in his tracks as he saw the room next to his open and Alexandria's blueberry pie and vanilla scent smacked him straight in the face. Oh fuck....She choose the room next to him. Probably for the same reason he did, the view.      As he slowly walked past the door while trying to keep his composure, the sound of feet walking up the stairs stopped him again, right in front of her door. He couldn't move even if he wanted to. He knew it was her the closer she got because his body turned into a violent storm of tingles and cold chills.     "Uhhh....What are you doing?" Alexandria asked.     Tristian slowly turned around to face her and as soon as he saw her, he quickly had to put his laptop in front of his pants to hide the instant b***r he got from seeing her. He stood there taking in every perfect dip and curve of her body and wished he could just pick her up, push her back into the wall and ravish that insanely sexy body of hers.      "Hello?! You mind moving so I can go change?"     "Huh? Yeah. Sure. Sorry."  he said while moving a few steps closer to his door.     "Thanks. And what is wrong with all of you? Do any of you know how to properly converse, or is Max the only one around here that has any sense about him?" she asked rhetorically before closing the door to her room, leaving him standing there like a 15 year old i***t.     Finally shaking his head and clearing his thoughts. He made his way to his room to take a long cold shower, all the time wondering how he was going to be able to even function properly with her is such close proximity to him. *****     After sitting on the bed and reading a few chapters of the book she brought, Lexi decided to change out of her bikini and into her favorite pair of dark destroyed denim curve hugging skinny jeans, a coral v-neck long sleeve midriff shirt and her favorite black heels, she quickly did a simple smokey eye with some thick mascara to make her eyes pop.      'If these idiots here at the base don't want to talk, maybe I can make a new friend at a local bar.' she thought to herself. While she did think the well built guys around here, especially Tristian, were all walking bronze s*x gods. She got the vibe they didn't want her there, and she wasn't one to sit around and take s**t. She didn't get to where she was by rolling over and she damn sure wasn't about to start now.      After doing a quick search on her phone, she found the local downtown bar scene gave her plenty of options for food and drink, so she switched over and ordered an Uber, getting lucky that she only had a 10 minute wait.     Grabbing her go-to crossbody, she quickly stuffed her phone, wallet, mace and brass knuckles in there and headed towards the first floor to go outside. While she knew she wasn't trained in hand to hand combat, she had watched enough that between the brass knuckles and mace, she could quickly do the damage if needed. Lexi wasn't going to be seen as weak ever again, at least not while she was breathing.     When she hit the bottom of the stairs, the whole crew turned towards her and stopped what they were doing, eyes all big as saucers. Lexi blushed bright red, but quickly composed herself.     "You guys never seen a lady before or something?"     Nothing. No response as usual.      "Whatever....See you guys later." she harshly said with an eyeroll.     "Wait....Where are you going?" Tristian asked.     "Oh...You do know how to speak. Lovely. I'm going out for dinner, drinks, maybe a little dancing, and if I get really lucky, maybe find someone that actually knows how to carry a proper conversation. I'll be back later."     "Doors lock automatically at 11 and you don't have a key. How exactly is that going to work?" Tristian challenged.     "Outside here is pretty nice this time of year. I've slept in worse places. Toodles! Don't wait up kids!" she smiled and swiftly walked out the door before any of them could say anything.     Once she got in the Uber and told the driver where she wanted to go, she sat back and watched the scenery pass by, enjoying the wonderful nature around here and proud of herself as she stuck it to the guys. Lexi was proud to be a firecracker and not even the sexiest person she has every seen is going to change that.
