IT WAS EASY TO TELL the actors from the guests. The murder mystery was set in the late 1800s, so all the players sported Victorian garb. Very impressive. Costumes like those didn’t come cheap.
Not just that, but they spoke like they were in a period drama. They pulled faces when guests used modern expressions or slang. “Goodness me! The turns of phrase being employed in London, these days. One simply cannot remain abreast of such changes to the modern vernacular!”
The performances were so entertaining Steven was very nearly able to put out of his mind all that he’d experienced earlier in the day.
