Tucker
I watch her walk out and I ached for her. Seeing her in so much pain was hard to watch. Do I leave her or go after her? I don't want to seem over baring which I think I already did that. But f**k I want her.
I suck it up and walk down to her room and hear her crying as I lean against the wall. Damn, she's hurting bad. Her pain I can feel through each heart-wrenching sob. Like she was physically hurting so deeply.
I push off the wall and step inside and walk over and kneel down beside the bed.
"Lucy? I whisper. Nervous if she's going to hit me or yell. Her eyes open and they rest on mine, her eyes were red and puffy. I reach out and touch her face.
"What do you need?? I speak softly.
"I need him back." She bit her lip holding in tears as she rolled on to her back.
"Then go her him." I can't keep her if she's not mine to have.
"I can't he's. . . gone." She sobbed and turned away from me. That pain is filled with the deepest sadness I have ever heard.
Fuck he's dead? Damn, how do I compete with a dead man that apparently was her world??
"Lucy, did he die? I am nervous to ask.
She just nodded her head as her body trembled. f**k. Without thinking I climb on the bed and wrap my arms around her. I just let her cry. No words, no promises of things will get better or it was just his time or some comforting s**t that doesn't do them any good.
She cried until she was asleep. After she stopped shaking I left her. I head back up to the main deck. It was getting cloudy out. The water was getting choppy. The boat was teetering back and forth. Not the best feeling.
The guys were just sitting around.
"How's she doing? Chester asked as he smoked a joint.
"She's asleep."
"Can't keep up, hey? Jasper teased.
"She's dealing with shit." I rake my fingers through my hair.
"Like breaking her nail? He chuckled.
"Dude shut the f**k up! I wanted to punch him for flapping his mouth.
"Easy killer." He puts his hands up.
"Just leave her alone."
"What makes you better than me for her??
"Are you trying to get beat up?
"She's hot why can't I have dibs too?
My fists clenched tightly.
"Dude don't make me hate you, man."
"Fine, I'll leave her."
The boat tipped to one side I slid into the side and held on for dear life.
Intercome:
"Guys hold tight...it's getting chopping. Where's Lucy?
I pointed down...
"A storms a brewing...battle down the hatches and get below deck. We are done for today."
We stumble our way around the deck putting stuff away and tieing things down. Then we go down below deck.
Lucy was up and in the kitchen having a drink. She seemed down-eyed. Still sad drinking her pain away.
"Boys."
"You okay? I ask worriedly about her.p
"Great." The boat tipped to one side and Lucy slid across the seat hitting the wall.
I held onto the counter and made my way over to the booth. Lucy sat herself up.
"Damn, what a ride." She giggled.
"Not the kind of ride I had in mind...Jasper leans in and whispers close to my ear but loud enough that Tucker heard it.
"Jasper shush your mouth, I can't help you if Tucker beats your ass." She nudged him with her elbow.
"I'm just poking a little fun."
"Poke at someone else."
"Drinks? She gets up but the boat tips making her fall back.
Lucy
I attempt again and make my way over to the kitchen. The boat kept going up and down. I grab a bottle of Whiskey and make my way back over and take a seat. I take a swing then pass it around.
"How about we stack cards," I suggest something to do.
"Hahaha, you don't think they'll just fall over? Tucker laughs.
"How about we all make one and who's ever's falls first has to drink five shots of tequila? Tommy says.
"Deal." I am the first one to chime in.
"I get up and find the tequila and five shot glasses. I place them on the table.
Dylan comes over with five decks of cards and passed them out.
We all start building our card towers. The mine collapsed immediately.
"Hahaha drink up! Tommy called me out. He pours the shots and slung them back.
"Let's go again," I say as I place the last shot glass down.
"Easy slugger," Tucker spoke close to my ear.
"I got this." I stand up and start stacking a new card tower. I had mine almost complete just as the boat tilted and they all came tumbling down.
"Nooo!
"Hahaha, so close." Tommy laughed at me.
"Drink up loser."
"Fine, pour them."
"Lucy, ease up," Tucker spoke up.
"Thanks, daddy."
"Haha! The guys all laughed at Tucker.
I grab the bottle from Tommy and fill the shot glasses missing them completely.
"You can't even aim, Lucy."
"Take two." I get closer and try to get the liquid in the tiny shot glasses. It was near impossible.
"Haha, damn girl." Dylan grabbed the bottle from me and poured the tequila.
"There ya go."
"Thanks, bottoms up." I start lifting the glasses up to my lips and knocking back the shots. One after the other.
I place the last one down and wipe my mouth as I feel a drip slid down.
Tucker shook his head and walked out.
"What?? You guys better drink up."
"We can't. We need to be focused in case there's a problem." Dylan says as he walks off.
"Tommy?? I fill another shot glass and slid it over to him.
"Nah, sorry babe." He stood up and left."
"What the hell?? I look over at Jasper and Chester.
"Just be careful Lucy. Some of us care about what happens to you."
"What does that mean? I ask accusingly. I get in Chester's face.
"Lucy there are people that care about you." His eyes seep into mine.
"I don't need you to care, I need my pain to do away." I poke my finger against his chest.
"In the time it will."
"No, it f*****g won't. He left me... I wasn't enough to stay and live."
His eyes soften and his arms come around me.
"You were enough. Some people can't see what's in front of them. They can't be helped."
"I tried...I begged him! Sobs ran through my body hurting everywhere.
I feel another pair of arms wrap around me.
"Lucy, we care. Don't through your life away." I hear Jasper speak sweetly.
"I'm nothing without him. He was everything to me. He was the one who was supposed to be mine forever."
"Sometimes things don't work out the way we think or want but it's leading us to something or someone even better."
Chester sounded so sure. But I couldn't let his words sink in. I push out of there arms.
"No. That's bullshit for just saying s**t to say shit." I spat out as tears ran down without any control on my part.
"Lucy don't be like him and throw your life away." Chester's words hurt. I charged at him feeling anger and hurt rage through me.
"Don't you dare talk about him, you don't even know him," I scream at him. I throw a punch at his face. He grabbed my hand and twisted it behind my back.
"Chill out." He spoke close to my ear.
"I throw my elbow back and hit him in the stomach...he coughed as my elbow connected with his gut. He gasped for air and walked off.
Jasper just stared at me.
"What??
"Don't treat us like s**t because he messed up," Jasper says as he walked out. His words hurt. But it was the truth. But I'm a stubborn b***h who feels jipped.
I grab the bottle of tequila and lift it to my lips...I hear all their words floating around my head. I toss the bottle in anger it hit the wall and shattered.
I walk out and head up to the top deck. It was raining hard I didn't care, my clothes soaked through pretty much instantly. I feel a coat come around me.
"You're soaked." Tucker rubbed his hands up and down my body. I shove his hands off and toss the coat off.
"Seriously are you trying to get a cold?? Tucker spoke with gentleness.
"Just leave me alone." I walk to the back of the boat and look out at the choppy sea. The giant waves crash against the sides of the boat.
The cold prickling of rain hurt as it pelted against me. But it made me feel the elements that made me feel alive.
The smell of the salty water hit my face as the mist spray-coated me. I was shivering, cold to the bone.
"Lucy, please wear this." He comes into view beside me, he looked at me with a sombre expression. I nod my head he covered me with the raincoat. His body closed in behind me, but he didn't touch. I grabbed his hands and pulled them around me.
"Better? He spoke close to my ear, I turn around and face him. Rain dripped off my nose and eyelashes.
I feel my stomach lurch catching me off guard and I threw up all over Tucker.
Oh my God, I did it again...
