A week later,
In that week Maxwell was busy with his work. Xander, Zoe, Anya and Joah got selected in the same group for the presentation. In this way, Xander got enough time to get closer to Zoe. The hate which Zoe had for Xander has started turning into love. Ira too was busy with her NGO, and Job. So after that she stayed at home mostly. Today , Mr Woods told Ira that his childhood Best friend is coming and he has asked for her proposal for his son.
"You already know my answer dad…" Ira said.
"I've waited enough for that darling but you can't just stay alone your whole life for Maxwell. You ain't even sure about his feelings. " Mr woods said
"That doesn't matter. He's my Best friend, that's enough for me .." Ira said standing up and started going towards the stairs.
"Have u ever thought, what will happen when he will get married to some other girl??" Mr Woods said a bit loud.
Ira's heart stopped for a moment. She ran upstairs towards her room without replying. She shut the door and jumped on her bed crying hugging a pillow.
After some time, she received a call. It was Maxwell.
"Hey wtsup??" Max said.
"Hey nothing just woke up " Ira said
"Are you fine?"
"Yes, what will happen to me?"
"Why ain't you human?? Ohh God, I knew that this witch had done some spell on me… someone please save me .." Max said to make Ira laugh as he felt she's not fine .
Ira laughed hearing it , " i***t …. Why did you call me, by the way?"
"Come out I'm waiting…."
"Whattt? Are you out of my house??" Ira asked shockingly. She got up from bed and looked outside the window. Max waved at her.
"I can't, some guests are coming home so dad told me to stay at home .." Ira said
"It's okay, we will return in an hour .. I'm Starving please be quick plus I've something to tell you .. " max said winking while looking towards Ira.
Ira raised an eyebrow, "What's that?"
"If you wanna know, come out .." Max said, smiling.
"Idiottttt… Dad's gonna scold me…" Ira said
"Okay your wish .." Max said.
"Umm coming… Max you are one hell of stupid man.."
"Thank Youuu…" Max replied laughing.
"Listen, one more thing…. " Max continued.
"What ?" Ira asked.
"Don't forget to wash your face before coming out … I don't want you to scare people…"
"Huhhhhh " Ira cut the call.
In a restaurant,
Both Ira and Max were having dinner. Ira was behaving differently today and Max noticed that.
"What happened to you Ira?" Max asked. He sounded concerned.
"Umm what?" Ira was lost in her thoughts so she didn't hear him.
"I said, " What has happened to you? Why do you seem lost today …"
"Oh nothing I'm good…" Ira replied.
"Sure??"
"Yess… by the way what were you going to tell me today? I too have something to tell you," Ira said
"What's that?" Max asked .
"First u tell I asked first " Ira said.
"Okay u stubborn girl … Well before Xander's birthday , Mom and Dad were talking about my marriage. You know what they said??" Max asked, laughing.
"What??" Ira asked. Her heart was beating rapidly.
"They said to me, when you and Ira had planned for marriage…" he said and started laughing.
Ira tried to smile and was curious for his reply.
"What you said?" Ira asked.
"What should have I said? I told them you are my best friend and there's nothing like that between us…" he said.
Ira's heart broke hearing that.
"What were you going to tell me??" Maxwell asked.
"Well….." Ira said then thought 'should I tell him this or not?'
"Well what?? You know Ira how much I hate suspense…"
"Ohkk telling… Well, today dad told me, his friend is coming to our home…" Ira said, looking down.
Max laughed, " This was the thing about which you were taking years to tell me??"
Ira gave him an irritated look, " lemme complete.."
Max stopped laughing and kept on looking at Ira .
"Yeah, so he has a son. And he's coming today at my home for his proposal. " Ira said sadly.
"Whatttt? Seriously?? What a great newsss!!!" Maxwell said happily.
Ira was shocked seeing his reaction.
"Are you happy??" Ira asked
"Shouldn't I ? It's great news!! Aren't you happy?” he asked.
"Huh?? I can't believe Max!!" Ira said angrily.
"Whatt?" Maxwell asked.
"Nothing… Dad is calling me, so I'll leave. You have your food…" Ira said and stood up.
"I'll drop you, just let me finish…" max said
"No I'll manage.. take care .." Ira said and was about to leave when she heard Max, "Wait I'm coming…"
Whole way, Ira didn't say a single word. Max too didn't try as he was confused what had happened to Ira today. Ira was trying hard not to cry.
Max stopped the car Infront of her house. Ira said take care and left. Max too left. Ira came inside the house and saw Mr Woods.
"Babygirl, I'm sorry I didn't mean to hurt you .." he said.
"And yeah Adam isn't coming today he will come tomorrow and don't worry I'll reject his proposal." He continued.
"Umm Dad, don't reject him. I'll marry Peter. " Ira said and went towards her room.
"What? But …" before Mr Woods could complete Ira had already entered her room. He shrugged.
