Alice's alarm went off and she jumped out of bed, stopping the alarm, she picked up her phone to check the time. It was 6:00AM, she sat for a while and meditated before rushing to the bathroom. She had an important interview and she felt positive that this time she would get the job, she smiled as she took a bath and making her way back to her dressing mirror, Alice dressed up and was soon ready for the day. "Today is another day and a good day it will be." She smiled to herself as she smoothen her shirt, picking up her bag and phone and making sure she wasn't forgetting anything, she left the room. "Something smells delicious," She said as she sniffed, she knew her roommate was up and was already making her breakfast, she turned on her phone to check the time, "6:45, I still have time." She shrugged as she sat and helped herself to one of the sandwich Sheila had made, she let out a small Hmm and yum when she took her first bite. "I'm nervous, I'll be honest. I've been stuck inside this house like a counch potato that I don't even know how I'll act when I get there, I really hope this works out." She said with her mouth full of food already. "Trust the process, it'll definitely work out, I didn't try to get you an interview at one of the top companies only for it to not work out." Sheila said with a sense of pride and Alice smiled. Sheila was the brain behind this new job, she'd heard that the CEO of the sterling industries was in need of a secretary and knowing how desperately in need of a job her friend was, she'd persuaded her to give it a shot. "You're right, thank you," Alice smiled, "I'd better start leaving." She added and grabbing her keys, she got out of the house in a blink of an eye. She thought she could beat the traffic and although it wasn't much, the road was still jam-packed, she silently prayed and hoped she would be in time for the interview. Soon, Alice was driving into the Sterling industries garage, she said a few words of affirmation before getting out of the car to face whatever it is that was waiting for her inside this building. She walked into the building and she gasped, it was even bigger than any of the buildings she'd seen before and almost everything was made of glass, it had a beautiful view, glass surrounding and tiled ground, she gawked at the building as she walked in and her admiration was soon cut short. "May I help you?" The lady at the front desk asked and Alice froze in her track, "I didn't mean to startle you." The lady smiled and she returned with a big smile of hers, the day was going well for her already, the first individual she encountered is being nice to her and that could only mean the rest of the staffs would be too, Alice was quick to conclude. "Yes, No, it's fine-" she stuttered, "I'm Alice, Alice James, I'm here for an interview." She added as she handed over her CV to the lady at the front desk. "Oh, yeah, I was informed of your arrival already," the lady smiled as she took the file from Alice, "If you would just wait a while, I need to inform the boss." She added and Alice nodded with a smile. If she was going to get the job then she need to act nice, Alice had her seat nervously and scanned the waiting area, she was the only one for the interview, no competition, she smiled. "He'll be ready for you in five." The lady announced jolting her out of her thought and day dream. "Okay, Thank You." She replied nervously. Alice sat for a while and she kept tugging at her skirt as she waited, an act she does only when she was nervous. "He's ready for you now." She announced and Alice stood up following behind as the lady led the way, they stopped in front of an office and the lady getting the door, ushered Alice in. The office was huge and Alice scanned the office as she walked in, taking in every details, the office was so clean that she was so sure there wouldn't be as little as a speck of dust, everything in an arranged order, she looked further to see a man seated on the chair behind the table, his back to her and she could see his shiny blonde hair. "Have a seat." He offered without turning and she made her way to sit on one of the comfortable looking chair, the man turned and both of them froze as they saw each other, what?! "You?!" The both of them said together. "What are you doing here?" She asked with a wide eye. "I should be asking you." He answered. "Well, I'm here for an interview. Now, why are you here?" "I'm the CEO and also the one conducting your interview." Alice froze, this is the end. She'd thought her day was going good and she would be in favour of the boss but, seeing who the boss was, she knew she stood no chance. He was the man she'd insulted when she was going to see Sheila, this handsome dark brown eyes man sitting in front of her was the CEO of Sterling industries, "Sterling...." she thought and her mind drifted off to when Sheila had seen him. "You're Evan Sterling." She affirmed, it was supposed to come out as a question but it didn't, it came out like she was bringing him to the knowledge of who he was. "Yes." Evan answered curtly as he stared deep into the blue eyes of this lady in front of him in a bid to intimidate her, she shifted in her seat which means it worked. He wasn't even going to be in search of a new secretary if Rebecca wasn't moving to Switzerland and this lady in front of him was one he wasn't so fond of. "And, I'll be conducting your interview, let's begin." He added in a serious tone. There was no way she'd get hired, she thought to herself.
