“Come in!” Magenta stood back and opened the door wide, making room for the kitchen staff.
They wheeled in the serving cart, and one of them asked, “Is there anything else I can get for you?”
Magenta shook her head. “No, thank you. You may go.”
He bowed slightly as the others left. “As you wish.” Then he turned and walked out.
A moment later, we heard Adan leave his suite and his footsteps faded as he headed down the hallway.
Magenta sighed, taking me in. “Do not keep him waiting too long.” She motioned with her head toward the door. “You don’t have much time before the Blood Moon approaches. You both must become Mates before it’s too late.”
