"Are you serious Lily?" I asked. The next day after I came from the meeting from my grandma's castle in the magical world, I got a call from my good friend Lillian. She's a vampire and enchantress hybrid that I've known since childhood. And she was just telling me how she and Octavia got attacked around the same time I was with my family. "Was anyone hurt?" I asked. "When Octavia came to me she was hurt pretty badly. But she seems to be doing a lot better now." Lily replied. I let out a sigh. I didn't realize that I was holding in a breath until she answered.
"Do you know who attacked you?" I asked. "Not yet but we might have a lead to find out. I was just calling to tell you if something happens just let me know." Lily said. "Will do." I promised her. "And be careful." "I will. Don't worry." I said. We both ended the phone call. What the hell is going on? I thought. It started with grandpa William and now it's happening to my friends. I had to get to the bottom of this. I had to find out who was responsible before someone else got hurt. I started brainstorming ideas on how to find the culprits. The number was simply too high. Most of us are royals, so we have plenty of enemies. Therefore, it will be difficult to pick just one.
Just one more thing to add to my list. I thought. For now I had to focus on this dinner that Grandma wanted to plan. Koji was in the kitchen with the children making breakfast while I sat at the table to think. "What's up kid?" Koji asked. He stopped flipping the pancakes for a bit and glanced my way. I sighed. "Just this dinner my grandmother is having tonight." "But I heard it's going to be somewhere else. And not at our castle."
Koji nodded. "This isn't unusual for your grandmother." "You know how she reacts when something happens out of the blue." I chuckled at that statement. Grandma is always full of surprises when things come unexpectedly. A troll king once tried to woo my grandmother for her hand in marriage but she beat him badly so that the goblin queen became smitten by his beaten face and married him. It was a nice wedding too. I loved the after party. But tonight's dinner still makes me nervous.
After breakfast, I decided to call my other grandma, Mabel to see what I should expect from tonight's dinner. "What's up my dear Angel?" She asked when she picked up. "Grandma, now I know your mother tells you everything, so what is this dinner about?" I asked bluntly. I didn't want to beat around the bush because I know grandma Mabel likes to play games.
"Oh my," Grandma Mabel gasp. "You're being very forward today aren't you?" "It's just I want to know what's going on," I said. "If you want to know the truth, you have to find the answers." "Well, that's fair," Grandma Mabel said. "I suppose I could tell you."
"We're going to meet an old friend tonight," Grandma Mabel said. "An old friend?" I repeated. "Is it someone that everyone knows or just the elderly?" I asked in a joking tone in the last part. "Ha ha very funny. But it's someone that the most mature and wise people know." Grandma Mabel joked back. "Your cousins have already met them but it's your group of siblings that needs to meet them now."
Interesting I thought. Surely they are very important. Must be if they want to merge the lands.
"Do you know why they want to merge the lands?" I asked. "That I don't know." Grandma replied. "I'm just as lost as you are."
"So we just have to wait and see tonight."
"Yep. But don't worry so much my love it will be fine."
"I wish I had your optimism Grandma," I sighed. "What's really bothering you Angel?" Grandma asked. "It's just that I feel nervous about the whole thing. And I also feel like something else is about to happen. Like something that could change forever."
"I know that change can be scary my love. But that's the beauty of change." "You'll never know what to expect."
The last comment made me smile a little. My inability to cope with the unexpected has plagued me for a long time. Nowadays I like to be prepared. But sometimes you have to be prepared to be unprepared for change. You have to learn to be flexible and adapt to the situation. Change is inevitable and it's up to us to embrace it.
Grandma and I talked for a bit more and then I hung up. Since I didn't have to go to work, I decided to catch up on some rough drafts. After the release of the first book, many people wereeager for the second one. And little did the fans know, I was already ahead of the game. I had most of the story already written, and now it was time to get the rest of it done. I was determined to finish the book as soon as possible. I was determined to make the fans happy.
I worked on it for several hours. And before I knew it, evening crept up on me. My three little dragons wanted to go with me but I told them no. But they helped me pick out an outfit. And what they chose for me was a lavender Lady Patchwork Mesh Sparkly Embroidery Straight Jumpsuit. I matched it with some low glittery chucky elegant rhinestone sandal heels my necklace and some rhinestone earrings. My hair was put in a slicked back high ponytail with curls falling down. In terms of makeup, I used lavender eyeshadow and a soft white cream highlighter.
With some final touches, I was all set and ready to go. Alright Angel here we go.

"Hurry up little brother. You don't want to miss out on the food." Erica says entering my room. I was just straightening my tie and making sure everything was straight. But to be honest, I was looking forward to this dinner. Sargon has been on edge for awhile. When that happens, something unexpected usually happens.
"I'm almost done," I told Erica. "Well you look rather dashing I must say." Erica says walking over to my mirror. "As for me, I look like a big whale." Erica was checking out her white dress she had just ordered. To me she looks fine. Radiant even. I guess women always assume they look terrible. Even my other sister and mother do the same thing. "You're beautiful to me sis." I shrugged. A sheepish smile spread across her face as she turned away from the mirror. "You're just saying that." She blushed. "No I mean it," I said. "And I'm pretty sure Al thinks so too."
She thanked me and readjusted my tie. "Grey looks fantastic on you and grandpa," Erica said. "Thanks." I smiled. "Who do you think is coming for dinner?" Erica asked. "Not sure but I get the feeling that it's someone special." I replied. "Well grandpa said there was going to be more than just his friend." Erica stated. "Sounds like fun." I sighed. Whenever grandpa invites a family, they're usually wild. But I hope and pray that's not the case.
I took a deep breath and prepared for whatever was coming. I walked Erica downstairs and waited in the foyer. I haven't been to our castle in a couple of months. And I noticed that the foyer had expanded. No doubt that was grandma's doing. And she added water fountains on each side of the grand staircase. And that's probably for the maids and the buttlers who get thirsty while cleaning. Although we never really wanted maids and such, however, people insisted on working for us. And so we have a couple of omegas working for us but not that many. We, the Silverwood Crest pack, don't believe in enslaving others or having things done for us.
We always believe in helping others and if we can do it ourselves we will. We still help the royal staff with chores and other things around the castle when they are here. Mary, one of the maids greets Erica and I with a smile and hugged us. "Welcome my princess and prince," she beams. "How have you been?" I asked the elderly woman. Mary was a gorgeous black woman with soft grey eyes and hair white as snow. She has been with us for over 40 years. She turns 89 in September. She's a warrior wolf. She trains the other warriors in the morning on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Tuesdays and Thursdays she's here at the castle. Everyone has weekends off.
"Now that my favorite twins are here, I'm just peachy." Mary said with a smile. "And I can't wait for that little one to come." She rubs Erica's belly. And whispers ,"You're going to be the best little angel that mommy can ever have." Erica chuckles "What if I get something unexpected?" Erica laughed as she looked at me. " I was going to come out by myself until this one followed me." Mary cracked up and I rolled my eyes. We are actually identical twins, but Erica is 45 seconds older than me.
"It will be just like old times if that happens," Mary said. "Now the table is all set and ready to go. You all can have a seat while I go and fetch the others."
Erica and I went inside the dining hall and sat in our respective chairs. My eyes were drawn to the dining hall as I looked around. The dining hall was adorned with elegant chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, casting a warm glow over the room. The long, polished table was set with fine china and sparkling silverware, inviting us to indulge in a feast fit for royalty.
"Mother really outdone herself," I said to Erica. "Hell yeah she did." Erica mused. "But by my count there seem to be about 20 chairs altogether." I too counted the chairs. Including Erica's and my chair there are only 20. "It must be a small family," Sargon chimes in my head. "Yeah, it must be," I said. As the others started to flood into the room, they too were astonished by the dining hall. "This is amazing!" Bambi praised it. Bambi is my little sister who comes after Erica and I. She has dark brown curly hair, cafe brown skin and golden hue eyes like my grandpa's with a button nose and full rounded lips. She had on a silver dress to match the dining hall and silver earrings. She sits next to me and gazes at the food.
"Holy s**t, this is all for us?" she asked. I laughed. There is tons of food. Mary and the staff really outdid themselves with the food. But that's to be expected. Once my brothers and our parents took their seats the only one who wasn't present yet was grandpa. We waited for him to arrive. He finally showed up. As a scent of lavender and honey hit my nose, Sargon became alert.
Could it be? I thought. Grandpa walked in with a beautiful woman with flowing pink hair and silver eyes. She was wearing beautiful pink silk dress but the scent wasn't coming from her. It was coming from the woman behind her. She was the most exquisite woman I have ever seen. Her alluring eyes met mine and I could tell she felt something too. I could feel my heart racing as I stood in awe. I was captivated and I felt like I was in a dream. I felt a connection that we had both been searching for.
"Are you alright, grandson?" Grandpa asked. The woman with the pink hair next to him giggles and it snaps me out of my haze. "I'm fine grandpa I just..." I stumble over my words. Grandpa follows my gaze over to the woman to his left and she looks away from me.
"Ah I see," Grandpa said. "I would like to present to you my dearest and oldest friend and her family." "This is Agatha Moonstone, the queen of Charmed City."
The woman with pink hair smiled and bowed. Despite the fact that we do the same, I still cannot take my eyes off the woman in lavender. She blushes when I smile at her. And then she looks down. "It's wonderful to meet you all face to face. These are my great-granddaughters, my daughter Mable and her husband Gabe. And her daughter Roxanne and her husband Armando."
All of them piled in and stood in a row next to each other. Still looking in her direction, Agatha sees me and urges her granddaughter to introduce herself. "Good evening everyone," she begins. "My name is Angel Moonstone."
My heart leapt out of my chest. "She's the one Rowan!" Sargon howls. "She's the one in our dreams!"
"Mate," I said. However, it didn't dawn on me that I had said it aloud.
