chapter three Remembering

Ren

I slowly cracked my eyes open to the sun shining through big glass windows with a beautiful view of a lake surrounded by trees, a bug nice yard with many open field flowers and a fire pit between the house and the lake. I stared for a second before thinking where the f**k am I the last thing I remember I stepped outside after making a complete fool of myself infront of the man candy melony had told me to find and bring home I shot up just then where is melony I seen her laying on a big comfy looking couch just across from me, then immediately regretted my fast movement when I felt way more than hungover, which was weird because I was not that drunk and nowhere near blacking out when I stepped outside something was seriously not right. Melony I whisper shout to which she just continued to snore melony i got a little louder to which she opened her eyes, how much do you remember from last night I don't know the club melony loudly groaned, so you don't know where we are either her eyes opened more becoming a bit more alert. I now heard footsteps coming from the other room and shot melony a panicked look. We both quickly laid down, closing our eyes.

They are up a smooth sexy voice yelled as the man from last night walked in I cracked an eye slightly and slowly sat up as I heard someone else enter the room I glanced over oh my god its the bartender, melony opened her eyes more becoming fully alert even fixing her hair a little,I glared at her to which she gave me a tiny shrug. I then shot the glare at the two men in the room where the f**k are we did you f*****g roofie us I was no where near drunk enough for a blackout yet I can't remember anything after I tripped into you I said pointing at the very hot man from last night, he squinted at me not speaking hell of a scheme you guys got you roofie them I said pointing to the bartender and you find a way to get close to them in the club before it fully kicks in I said turning my glare back to the man from last night . The bartender smiled a little staring at Melony who was silently staring at me with a shocked face.. Man candy from last night outright laughed, sure he said still laughing I definitely planned for you to trip headbutt me right in the c**k and then run away without so much as introducing yourself. I shrank down into the couch feeling my face heat, melony was giving me an incredulous look, the man started to speak my name is rex and this is tazz what are your names I didn't speak so melony did.

she pointed to me that is Ren and I am Melony. She continued on I'm not sure what happened last night but we really should be getting home now.

tazz immediately jumped in dropping on the couch right beside melony he said not just yet let's have some breakfast first and we can have a conversation while we eat melony looked at me I narrowed my eyes at her well it's not gonna hurt anything Ren we will just stay the morning to eat and talk but we are not hostages right melony asked looking at tazz who laughed and shook his head no. Okay perfect rex said walking into the kitchen motioning for everyone to follow I slowly did and sat in a chair at the island that sat in the middle of this spectacular kitchen, and watched as rex pulled out a big bowl and a waffle maker, what do you remember from last night after you guys were in the alley rex asked pouring pancake mix in the bowl, absolutely nothing I answered. Think really hard rex replied pouring water into the mix and stirring I got a small flash of just after melony walked out of a scream and then a man moving way to fast to be humanely possible and people dropping with blood running down their bodies, I shook my head that had to just be a nightmare not a memory I got nothing. You really can't remember any of it rex said looking between me and mel not even a vampire dropping bodies right in front of you before he changed you to. Tazz walked up smacking rex in the back of the head wow what a gentle considerate way to start the conversation tazz scoffed rex shrugged had to come out somehow it's not a gentle topic there is no way to tiptoe around it rex replied. My mouth hung open as I looked back at Melony sure it won't hurt anything to stay to talk over breakfast I mocked as she sat there just looking shocked. I stood up walking over to her grabbing her hand they are f*****g phycos I whispered in her ear we have to run for it as soon as we get a chance I pulled a chair up next to Mel so when they walked away we could run.

Rex walked over sliding a plate with a waffle in front of me and walked over to the fridge grabbing ready whip out and walking back to slide that in front of me as well I wasn't going to argue with that I put a healthy amount on to my waffle and took a bite it was so good I took another bigger bite and had mine almost gone by the time tazz brought melony one. Rex sat down with his waffle so the first noticeable part of the change should be starting within the next couple hours. You are going to be very hungry and human food will help until it gets more severe then it will feel like you are starving to death and we have some blood packs in the fridge. My stomach dropped and melony gasped as tears started to roll down her face she was panicking s**t we really might die here with these phycos tazz walked behind rex slapping him in the back of the head again harder this time, what rex yelled I'm just trying to prepare them for what is to come are we not supposed to warn them about what is about to start happening. Yes you f*****g dumb ass we are supposed to tell them tazz said but what you are not supposed to do is jump out talking about vampires and having blood in the fridge immediately before they even get a little comfortable especially when one already thinks we roofied her they are scared to death. Well hell it's not like there are instructions on the s**t rex grumbled actually there are tazz insisted text Frank and have him send you some resources fine rex said and then stormed out of the kitchen and I could hear him stomping up stairs.

Mel was as stiff as a stone next to me. I squeezed her hand slightly trying to comfort her I was going to find a way to get out of here. We weren't going to die here, I just needed to think. Could you point me to the closest bathroom please? Tazz nodded and I stood not letting go of mels hand and followed him until he stopped in front of the door I pulled Mel in behind me and turned the faucet on in the sink. I put a finger to my lips signalling for her not to talk I pointed to a small window we could squeeze through above the shower melony nodded stepping into the shower I stepped in behind her kneeling for her to step on my hands she did and pushed the window open I pushed up with my hands helping to boost her enough to wiggle through the window she hung there reaching her hands down for me before she dropped her body weight out the window using herself as leverage to pull me out with her we both tumbled out the window hitting the ground with a loud thump and landing as a pile of limbs, f**k that was to loud they now probably know we jumped out I scrambled to my feet pulling Mel up with me I started to run as fast as I could Mel squeaked as a heal broke lose the shoes I whisper shouted at her and she obliged kicking them off as we ran we hit the tree line and I ran harder not letting go of mel all of a sudden a blur past us moving way to fast to be possible like the man in my nightmare I stopped panicking what if it really was a memory not a dream what if rex and tazz are telling the truth but certainly that is impossible.

I turned back in front of me and there stood tazz and rex melony mouth wide open. They are telling the truth Ren she whispered, shaking from fear.

I dropped to the ground. I couldn't deny they moved way too fast to be possible but vampires my brain couldn't accept it. They aren't real, they are just scary stories for kids. Rex walked over scooping me in his arms and walking back towards the house Mel trailed behind still looking shocked tazz walked just behind her. When we made it to the yard rex walked near the fireplace and dropped me into a chair okay he started I know this is all crazy and hard to believe but I am telling the truth and I'm about to give you solid evidence I didn't at first because I thought it would scare you more than just explaining but clearly show is gonna be better than tell he got down on the ground in front of me his eyes changed not like you would expect they didn't turn red o black or anything they just got very bright almost like they were tiny flash lights and fangs began to appear in his mouth they weren't like huge hand out of his mouth fangs like in movies they did appear very sharp even though they were only maybe a centimeter longer than what his teeth had looked like before the fangs dropped. Rex stepped back before flashing to the lake and back so fast all you can see is a blur that's moving so fast you would convince yourself you hadn't seen anything if you saw it out and about and not learning that the impossible was in fact very real. He sat down in the chair beside mine placing his hand over mine I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you I was trying not to scare you by explaining it has been a long time since I was human and I have never helped anyone through the change because there is a facility for that but I didn't want to send you there no girl has ever made a first impression like you before I let a small laugh escape. Tazz made a gagging sound making me look up. He was mocking throwing up at Melony who smiled a little but was giving me a confused look you don't even want to know.

I thought for a second if I hadn't got so embarrassed and ran outside then melony would have s never went outside and neither of us would be in this situation, tears started to roll down my face as the guilt ate me oh my goodness I'm so sorry Mel this is all my f*****g fault if I wouldn't have gotten embarrassed and ran outside and just met you at the bar then none of this would even be happening right now we would be at home hungover ordering some greasy food and bed rotting with “The walking dead” on TV. Oh Ren melony said walking over I could see tazz walking away behind her he probably didn't do so well with the emotional stuff rex stood up walking away with him maybe they just decided to give us some privacy. Mel sat down in the chair that Rex just got up from listen Mel started while I would very much like to know the events that occurred for you to be so embarrassed you ran outside and stood up your best friend at the bar, none of this is your fault first it was my idea to go out, I basically had to strong arm you into it. Second, how the hell were you supposed to know there was a vampire in that alley when if you told me yesterday you believed in vampires I would have had you committed immediately I huffed out a little laugh wiping the tears off my face.

Now on to a more fun subject Mel interested how f*****g hot are those vamp guys mission find man candy definitely accomplished, I see you looking at rex even when you thought he was a serial killer well he still could be we need to find out how we get blood I am absolutely not killing anyone and I don't want to change anyone either mel rambled on I jumped in I don't even want to drink blood that is disgusting you know I hate to even look at. Mel nodded I know but maybe that will go away now, anyway rex seems very interested in you what was that first impression he was talking about I dropped my head into my hands I tripped headbutted him in the crotch felt up his abs stammered out a bunch of unintelligible worse and then a stuttered apology and ran away. Oh my Mel laughed that sounds incredibly awkward but he seems into awkward so your all good Melony laughed. My stomach growled. We had been out here for about an hour talking but it had only been about an hour but it was just now 10 in the morning I think this might be the beginning of the hunger considering we just had waffles.

Let's go in and find a snack I said Mel nodded I agree when we walked in the guys were going through bags from different stores and I mean a lot of stores some bags were from the mall I seen all kind of different logos as well as regular grocery store bags, the whole counter was full of takeout from so many different places and rex was taking regular groceries out of bags and putting them away. Would you guys be more comfortable to share a room or would you like you own rex asked? Melony quickly jumped in and Ren would be more comfortable to share a room with you. That's fine with me rex said picking up a bunch of bags get something to eat then I'll show you where it's at. I smacked melony on the shoulder and she laughed walking over. She opened the pizza box and grabbed a tub of wings. I did the same and we sat down and began eating.
