Chapter 12: Show me more

1290 Words
The amount of steam coming out of his Mechanical Exoskeleton's carapace became abundant before anyone could surmise the current situation. Pouring the kindness she deserved, Arion knelt beside Lilith's unconscious body, brushing his hands through her green hair ever so slightly. He swiped the navigation panel getting a single health potion in front of the crowd, the count drops to 3 since he used the first potion on her earlier ago outside, it's a total of 5 before he used any. Without batting an eye or whatsoever, he gently parted her lips, popped the cork, and made her drink the health potion down the hatch. The bruises on her left shoulder were healed instantly, but the concussion she received was quite serious she's still motionless on the floor. "Compression magic and skilled in apothecary?!" Adriel can't believe not only Arion can use compression magic, but she can't fathom that his health potion is way too potent it actually healed Lilith's condition 100% ratio. However, it's just a misunderstanding. He can't even fully understand the concept of magic let alone use any of its chasms. "I don't know what you're talking about. I'm just a guy with wisdom. And I shall defeat you right here and now." Arion was being stern. He had a dead-serious face of someone who's going to make the Jade Princess regret her decision of hurting his companion. He doesn't fully know Lilith nor who know really she is. They met like an hour ago or so. But if Arion said he owns her, there's no way he'd let her be exposed in jeopardy. "Hmph." She huffed. "Do you really think you could win against me without using any magic? Don't make a joke 'cause your getup was one thing." And she even used her clout to make fun of his turtle neck sweater and jeans as the crowd was ridiculing him through laughing so hard until they couldn't properly breathe. "Was that a joke? Cuz all I hear was a babbling lady who's all bark and no bite. Oh yeah, you must be a dog." Arion taunted her in return that a mage from the crowd chuckled, everyone was preventing themselves from grinning. He has elbowed himself right away when Adriel herself gave him a harsh stare, silencing him from where he stood. The tension between the two grows bigger with each count of seconds. It was the moment Arion took the stance of a martial artist and his opponent, Adriel, spun her staff displaying superiority over him. Everyone around them stepped backward for them to have enough space on their duel. On the other hand, Sarra carried Lilith in a safe spot because she felt responsible she couldn't clear the misunderstanding between the two, resulting in someone ending up injured. "I should be studying magical concepts now. And now I have to instill some senses inside your head. I feel like I'm cheating using an armament I didn't invent, but just this once... let me bash your pride!" Arion roared his pent-up emotion. The fact that he's using a weapon he didn't create leaves distaste on his tongue. Usually, when he was still back on earth, he would never use appliances unless he creates it using his bare hands. This kind of mental disease develops into something they called obsessive-compulsive disorder when he endured using an electric fan because he had a relative coming. His personal room was full of replica inventions of modern things like television and game consoles. It's not like he totally cannot accept utilizing things he did no create, he just had to create it if he ever got the chance. Since Arion doesn't want to waste time on fighting for nonsense, he'll make sure Adriel regrets her decision of hurting Lilith, and he'll finish this as fast as possible. Now that taking a look upon her and noticing just right above her head was the same kind of panel he saw from the mages outside when he saved Lilith on their violence. Name: Adriel Induis Level: 56 Class: Alchemist Rank: Magister HP: 15470 MP: 23345 Wisdom: 80% Strength: 5% Dexterity: 5% Luck: 10% It seems the only difference was the fact Arion can clearly see his entire information sheet. He guesses it must be revealed when Adriel introduced herself while flaunting her achievements as the Jade Princess. Without prior knowledge about this kind of stuff, her HP and MP have higher points than those from the stupid mages he encountered earlier. And the status consisting of wisdom or intelligence, strength which makes up physical abilities, dexterity for flexibility and speed, and luck were divided in a form of a percentage. This percentage then differentiate their latent abilities and what they could do. Despite reaching the highest rank of Magister, she was still clinging onto her vanity from her past achievements. Focusing the heart and mind, Arion once again looked at his status panel as he visualizes this concept. And through his imagination, a piece of information only for him has developed and integrated from his system allowing him to see his own status. Name: Arion Aldrehrt Level: 1 Class: Creator Rank: Apprentice HP: 1150 Inventions: 0 Wisdom: 50% Strength: 25% Dexterity: 20% Luck: 5% Upon seeing his Mana Points bar was missing and replaced by another thing called inventions, he finally accepted the fact that what he got from his aptitude test was the truth and he had zero aptitudes in the field of magic. "And that's why...!" Arion clenched his fist. "I don't need any kind of magic... if I can create my own!" He declared in front of the crowd and initiated attacking Adriel head-on. His Mechanical Exoskeleton produces plentiful of steam as he rushes towards his opponent. "Create your own?! How foolish, magic cannot be created! I shall show you why I'm called the Jade Princess." Adriel circulated her fingers through the air while blending the flow of mana around the orb attached at the top of her staff. "Let's see about that!" He firmly declared. "Control the flames from the underworld, bring forth its–" While she was casting her spell, Arion crouched down at the wooden platform and swept his legs below, directly hitting her right ankle that canceled her spell by toppling the balance of her standing disposition. The movement he just showed was faster than he could achieve from the standard style of martial arts. After all, his body movement and muscles' strength were empowered using his armament. Arion's entire body is covered in alloys of the mechanical carapace. The ticking clockwork became faster as his adrenaline rush kicks in further enhancing his physical capabilities. "Impermissible!" Adriel had no room left for chanting magic and decided she should begin chanting magic without casting. "Fire Orb!" The accumulation of mana in his palms revealed a magic circle and ancient glyphs that make her hands produce a fireball of flames. "Cling onto your magic, and soon you will lose hold of your precious life," Arion asserted before he chopped the ball of fire into two upon cutting it with his palms mid-air. Without understanding why Adriel was getting driven back fighting a guy that has no magic or whatsoever, she stepped back taking a proper precaution of his true abilities. The crowd was left agape from such a spectacle of a fight between a mage and a fighter, although he's originally wisdom-reliant since he's merely channeling all his knowledge just so he could be one step ahead of Adriel. Everybody can't tell which side they shall cheer in this fight, leaving them speechless while they were waiting for their next move. "Is that all you can do? Show me more of your so-called magic."
