Chapter 2 I got almost twelve whole hours of peace. To be honest, I was surprised the Mastriano clan had managed to hold off that long. After Joe helped me get settled, he went to get my prescriptions filled. He’d only returned for a few minutes to drop them off. He made sure I knew where they were and when to take them, and then he left me to sleep. And sleep I did. Other than the occasional painful trip to the bathroom and twice to drink some water and take pills, I spent the entire time sleeping. It had been good, exactly what I needed.
