Lucas laughed to himself when he saw how hood made him smile, which was surprising given that he had not smiled in a very long time. When he got to the bottom of the steps and saw hood and lily talking, he started to wonder if there was something wrong with them, and he also wondered where his father, the Alpha, might be.
When Lily and Hood first spotted him, they immediately stopped what they were doing and just stood there staring at Lucas. Lucas approached Lily and bowed to her as a sign of his respect. Because of this, lily was filled with joy, and she looked over at hood and whispered.

Hood and Lucas leave the kingdom, and when they are sufficiently far away and aware that the kingdom is no longer in sight, Hood makes her statement.
