Lucas' pov
The guard thrashed me so hard that my body was in excruciating pain. I made it to my room and sat on my bed. I looked in the mirror next to me and noticed that I was sweating profusely.
I concentrated, and my body began to mend; I still felt pain, but it was not from the wound this time but something else.
I felt my heart racing and thought of Lora, wondering what she may be doing right now. Her friend's death was merely a shock to her; her mother informed me she had been harmed before, and not having her wolf power and the ability to turn, was one of the reasons.
I felt like I wanted to stay close to her all day since I enjoy her company and feel pleased whenever I am near her.
How can I tell her I'm a prince when my father doesn't want anyone knowing and I'm simply pretending it?
I saw a picture of Me and my mother when I was a child, and I remember her telling me night stories and making things simple for me. My mother was never in favor of my father's decision, and she only wanted what was best for me.
The shock Lora felt today about her childhood buddy was similar to the shock I had when my mother died.
I lay down and closed my eyes, vowing to forget the agony and all that had damaged me. All I want to do is imagine a joyful moment between me and my mother with Lora, and I desire Lora could be my mate.
I went to bed and before I knew it, I was in another universe.
I imagined myself standing in absolute darkness, looking around but seeing nothing but total darkness. I was perplexed as to where I was and couldn't figure out where I was when all of a sudden all of the lights turned on.
Lucas...Lucas, I could hear my name being called.
Look around, Lucas; it's ii your mum.
I turn around and see a lady dressed in white with her back to me; I walk carefully, hoping to get close to her and learn who she was.
What is your name? With a puzzled expression on my face, I question her.
It's your mum, she said softly.
So why are you looking back? I'm still perplexed.
How can I look at you in this state, son? How can you see me this way? She replied in a tearful tone.
Turn around and face me. Please.
She began to turn around, and when I saw her face, I realized it was my mother, and there was a lot of blood on her neck. I hurried up to her and hugged her without thinking.
Mother has missed you terribly; please don't leave me again. I burst out crying.
Lucas My son, I am always with you, yet you have been deafeningly deaf about your father's evilness.
But, mum, I kept crying as I gaze at her.
Mother, how can I hurt father? I only have him, and if I injure him, I will be the one to bear the consequences.
Lucas, you are brave; flee the kingdom and travel far; your father may kill you one day.
I took one glance at her and decided to speak out.
Mother, I know your heart is broken, but please allow me to assist you.
The only way you can assist me, the son is if you decide to flee from your father.
I stood there staring at my mother, not knowing what to say. Then her head began to slip down, and I saw my mother's body standing ahead, and I scream and woke up.
It was already dawn, yet I felt so tired and weak that I stood up and walked back to the mirror to look at myself.
I got dressed and hurried to Lora's house; I observed her mother was upset and tried to console her but she was still locked in her room.
Hello, Lora Mom.
Lucas, she went up to me and sobbed.
What happened to you, ma? Why are you crying? Surprisingly, I ask.
Lucas, it's Lora.
"What happened to her mother?" I wonder, terrified.
She has refused to come out of her room and eat her son. She has locked herself in that room. Son, tell me what I should do.
Mother, please don't worry too much, okay? Listen, mother, I'm here, and I'll make sure she's okay.
Thank you, son, and God bless you. I smile and head up to Lora's room, where I stand waiting outside the door.
Lora, I understand how difficult it is to accept that all of this was predestined. Listen, Lora, I came here entirely because of you; don't make me leave because of you.
Lora, You are merely punishing yourself if you keep yourself locked in the room.
Lora Your friend is no longer alive and will never return.
Do you want to hear a terrible story about my mother, who was killed in the same way your friend was killed? I've faced a lot in life, Lora, and I've overcome fear.
I beg and beg for Lora to come out.
I stood at the door, waiting for her response, but there was none. I knocked and knocked again, but there was no response.
Lora Why are you punishing yourself, I snarl, why do you want me to suffer? Please come out; you are my only friend, and if you leave, tell me what I will do; I know your heart is broken, but you have broken mine even more.
Lora If I leave this place, I swear I'll never return or look at your face again.
I kept talking and talking, but she didn't react, so I turned around, almost defeated.
I'm leaving Lora, and I guarantee I'll never come back.
I was walking to the door when I heard a click on another door. I looked up and saw Lora crying. She ran to me and hugged me.
Please don't leave, you're the only friend I have left; it hurts so much, Lucas.
I feel my heart skip a beat, wondering what I could do to make her happy, why does my father kill, and what the point of it all is.
I look down at Lora and say, "Come on, go get your dress, I'd want to take you for a walk."
