Chapter Four

Samantha looked up and saw her friend. She began to smile as Cat headed in her direction. As she got up to grab her things, she saw her boss gravitate to her friend. Oh freaking no. The main conversation she planned to have with her friend was concerning her lecherous boss. Before she could warn her, Cat was caught in his snare.

"Hello, Cat. How was your first day?" Ari feigned interest in her new job.

"Good afternoon Dr. Gold. It was really amazing. Thanks for asking." She was genuinely impressed that he noticed the morning's conversation with her friend.

"Please, call me Ari. Dr. Gold is what everyone calls my father. I'm simply Ari." The smile on his face was ridiculously alluring. Cat felt warm inside just standing next to the doctor. He was very charming and far too sexy to ignore.

"Ok, Ari." She simply stated his name. It was almost a whisper. He knew he was well on his way to getting her. It was as if she were a baby lamb and he was the big bad wolf. The thought made Ari laugh to himself. In a short period of time, he would find out what was so appealing about this woman.

"Where do you work and what exactly do you do?" He asked her casually.

"I'm a financial consultant and I just started at Envisage Financial Forecasting," Cat responded to his question. This was the first time he was surprised by the career of a lady he had in his sights. He knew the company well since it was owned by one of his closest friends who was also his cousin. Ari knew that in order for her to work as a financial consultant, she must be well educated and really good with finances. He was truly surprised and that was very rare.

They stood there lost in conversation for a little while as Samantha wrapped up her work for the day. She walked up to the two as he handed Cat his personal card. Her friend was in danger and she didn't even know it. As a friend, she would try to warn her, but she knew how this usually worked. He had spent just enough time to nearly charm the pants off of her.

"Are you ready?" Cat looked at her friend as she came into view.

"Yes, ma'am." Came her overly enthusiastic reply.

"Cat, I look forward to seeing you later." Ari smiled at her and told the ladies to have a nice evening. The two ladies walked out to the chocolate brown 2017 Lincoln MKC Select SUV.

Lost in her thoughts as she considered the fact that the doctor was interested in her, Cat could not believe that a man as sexy as Dr. Ari Gold was interested in her. She got in the driver's side and started the vehicle when her friend lightly grabbed her arm.

"Did he ask you out?" Samantha questioned with a serious look on her face.

"Yes, he did." Cat was really feeling herself.

"Cat, please be careful. Dr. Ari Gold has a really bad reputation." She warned her friend.

"Sam are you serious?" The disappointment was evident in Cat's eyes and her voice.

"He is known for having s*x with women once or twice at the most and discarding them." The information took the wind out of Cat's sails. She was really surprised after hearing what Samantha had to say. They didn't talk the rest of the way to the house. She tried to hide the way she was feeling, but she wasn't doing a good job.

When they arrived at the house, Cat walked inside and went straight to her room. She took a shower and jumped in the bed. Even though she wasn't really tired, she drifted off to sleep. A ringing sound pierced through her dreams. As she opened her eyes, Cat realized her cell was ringing. She grabbed the phone and saw it was him.

"Hello." The sleepy voice answered the phone.

"I'm sorry. Did I wake you?" Ari questioned apologetically.

"It's okay. I didn't mean to fall asleep so early. I came in, took a shower, and that was it." Cat laughed into the phone. No matter how many times he heard her voice, he always got the same jolt. The way her voice caressed his mind was maddening. She was far too sultry, and he could not understand why.

"Is it too late for you to hang out?" His coy request was hopefully submitted. Cat thought about what her friend said earlier and seriously considered telling him no. She could not understand why she didn't tell him a flat NO. A quick glance told her it was only 10 PM.

"Sure, I can hang out for a little bit." Honestly, she wanted to see what he had in mind. Why not hang out with a hunk? She had successfully fended off other guys. He could not make her do anything she didn't want to do.

"Ok. Text your address and I will come to pick you up." He stated.

"I think it would be best for me to drive myself. Besides, I already know where you live." She replied.

"Ok. That's fine with me." Ari forgot that she had already visited his actually home. There was no way he could take her to his f**k pad. If he tried to do that, it would raise too many questions. Damn, he was breaking his own rule. He never brought women to his home. It made it easy for him to go about his daily life without disturbances from angry females. He also did not like reminders of the chicks he f****d in his space. This was the first and last time he would break his rule.

Ari dressed casually in some jeans and a royal blue t-shirt. When he heard his security calling on behalf of Miss Taylor, he realized he was giddy. He stood in the drive and waited for her to pull up in the circle drive. The SUV cruised to a stop and she jumped out. He nearly tripped over his tongue. Cat looked scrumptious. She was wearing powder blue drawstring shorts and a matching tank top with white and powder blue Nikes. The shorts weren't particularly short or anything. Her body just looked incredibly sexy in the dressed down outfit.

"I see you made it." He greeted her with a smile and a kiss on the cheek.

"It wasn't difficult. I have a good memory. The last time I came to Beverly Hills, I was so astounded." She laughed at her tourist ways. The light in her eyes was the same thing that continuously pulled Ari to her.

"What would you like to do?" He grinned.

"Do you play Call of Duty, GTA, or NBA 2K?" She asked seriously. At first, he didn't believe what she just asked. A lady who liked to play video games. Ari just stood there and stared at her for a moment.

"You like to play video games?" The question was asked in disbelief.

"Yeah, my brothers are merciless, so I am pretty good." They walked into his house and went straight to his game room. At first, Ari thought she had no idea what she was talking about. He could not believe that this woman was really into video games. He figured she was just trying to sound cool until she beat the breaks off him in NBA 2K.
