"Sweetheart...darling please open the door, Jia.... pumpkin pie.?.... Sugar cubes?...

I cringed at the words that were coming out of my mouth to please my mate.

"Anything else?" Rex asked boringly.

"Shut up"

"You have hurt mate, how can you talk about other mate to her."

"You of all people, should know how things are, there is a serious situation we are facing. We can be under attack at any moment. That Black Devil can do anything. We have been safe so far because of all the loyal people we have. I can feel it, the danger lurking in the shadows..."

"Warrior kent we are waiting for you." One of my men said through mindlink. I sighed looking at the bathroom door. I had to go.

"I am leaving Jia, see you at the party." I didn't get any response. I walked out talking small steps, hoping she will open the door anytime and come running towards me, but I guess that's not happening, with one last look I headed out.

I hope we get through this and are able to take down that Black Devil. He has surely become powerful and was creating nuisance, but we were definitely stronger and with Southern moon pack backing us there is no chance for him.

We have not let these tensions pass to pack members, even Luna is not aware of it. Alpha didn't wanted to scare them unnecessarily. He was not even ready for this party too but had to oblige for Luna. We were taking extra care on protection.

Once this whole mess is sorted, I will take Jia to our beach cabin and will spend whole week there. We even need to discuss on starting a family. That brought a smile on my face, thinking of cute little Jia running around.

Jia's Pov

When Vik left, I took quick shower and started getting ready. I slipped in my dark blue party dress that reached floor. Its V neck for deeper than my comfort, but I wanted to look different. I had not shown it to Vik, I wanted to surprise him, see his reaction. I curled my hair and left them open and was ready to go.

When I reached at the party that was organised in the pack ground, I was awestruck with all the glitter. A huge tent was build with long table that hold large quantity of food, you name a dish and it was there. Lanterns were hanging from trees, illuminating the whole area. Most of people where already there, but where is my mate. In all the glitter and gleam of universe, I was searching for my star.

I bumped into Brittany as I was looking at the entrance.

"Oh gosh! am so sorry Brit, are you hurt? Is baby ok?" I asked placing my hands on her baby bump, just then the little guy inside kicked, ya it was a boy.

"Oh! He recognised his godmother." Brittany said.

I beamed at her, I was already in love with him.

"What are my two favorite ladies doing? By the way you look gorgeous Jia, Vik is gonna droool." Jake came and stood beside Brit and placed his hand protectively around her shoulder.

I slapped on his arm, we had grown close to each other, he considered me as his little sister.

"Are you leaving already", I asked, noticing a duffle bag in his hand. Brit was going to stay with her aunt for few days for a change and Jake was going to drop her off. How he is going to survive without her for few days is a mystery for me.

"Ya we have wished Alpha and have his permission to leave" Brit said.

"Ok lets get going and Jia enjoy the party." He said pointing his head towards the entrances and both of them going away.

There he was, my mate looking dapper, walking along with one elderly person. He must be Alpha Norman from Southern moon pack, he had so much authority and command around him.

I was smiling widely look at my mate and swaying myself left and right like a stupid school girl who saw her favourite movie star, when I suddenly remembered, that I was angry with him. I straightened myself and replaced a smug look on my face.

As he was passing by me he eyes fell on me he looked as if awestruck with his mouth open and then he frowned. I looked away from him.

"What are you wearing? Isn't... isn't that neck too deep?" He asked through mindlink.

I closed the link and went towards the girls and joined them in their chatter.

"Good evening everyone" we heard luna

"Welcome everyone for the celebration of your Alpha's Birthday. We all from Pearl moon pack would like to give a special welcome to the Alpha on Southern moon pack, Alpha Norman." Luna said and crowd cheered.

"Its an honor to have his presence with us. And now is the time to cut the cake."

Ohh! it was my time to get the cake to the venue. I rolled the cart of cake in front of Alpha with help of some pack members.

Apha Jason was standing in front with Luna Sandra and Alpha Norman, behind him were Beta George, Beta Lucy, Gamma Alex, Gamma Megan and my mate, Head Warrior Viktor, I went and stood beside him, that was the protocol.

He instantly wrapped his arm around my waist bringing me closer to him, I was engulfed into electrifying warmth and hypnotizing scent of my mate. It took strength of whole universe to not react. My mate kept looking at me while Alpha cuts the cake and we singing birthday song for him. There was a great uproar from everone.

The party was in full swing and I was cutting and serving cake to everyone, when Beta came towards me.

"I saw you mate making out with some slut behind pack house." He whispered in my ears.

Coming from George I know that's not true. Or even if moon goddess told me this, I won't believe her.

I fake smiled at him

"Good for him, he has every right to enjoy" I said innocently.

"I am serious, go and check for yourself" he almost pulled me and dragged me towards the backyard. When we turned the corner, he left and went away. After being in brightness for so long, the darkness pressed in my eyes, and before I could adjust myself I was again engulfed in flames.

"MATE" Ara yelled, she was missing Rex, I suppose

"MINE" I heart Vik growl.

I didn't look up at him, instead hugged him and rested my head on his chest. Is there any other secure or peacefully place than this? Enough of drama and pretence. I can't be away from him longer was naked truth.

"Are you still mad at me?"

I hugged him tighter in response. I could hear his hearbeats, somehow is sounded like my name. Jia, Jia, Jia with every beat, just like mine that beated his name.

"I can try more you know, George helped me with some words like..umm. Butter butt or hot buns or sweet puss.."

I was shocked, I pressed both my hands on his mouth

"Oh goddess! 'My Jia' is fine, better than anything else"

He removed my hands from his lips

"After all these is over we will go to our beach cabin and make pups"

pups! I tooks a long breath and before I could respond, his lips came on mine.

While we were lost in our kiss, a very disturbing and pungent smell hit our nostrils.

We broke our kiss and looked at eachother with terrified eyes.

"ROUGES" we yelled in union.
