My Responsibility

Jake's POV

We were roaming around school aimlessly. I was loosing hope with every step, maybe my search is not over yet.

As we entered a corridor, which was almost empty as classes were going on, I was hit by the most amazing smell. Smell of roses, my favourite. I knew what that was. I had found my mate.

I was super excited, her scent was coming from ladies washroom, my mate was in there. I was about to go inside when Jia stopped me.

"Hey! Stop. Its ladies washroom, you still need to look at her to be sure" she told me.

She was right, I need to look into her eyes, for my wolf to comfirm it. My wolf, Sam was getting impatient. He was not ready to wait more. Then a new smell told me a different story. Even Jia realised it.

"Jake, she is..." Jia started to say.

"Human" I completely here sentence.

Human mate can make things different and difficult, but I was not thinking about that now. Atleast I had found her and wanted to see her.,

Soft sobs distracted me from my thoughts.

"Is she crying" I said aloud. How dare someone hurt my mate, I will kill, whoever that is. I wanted to go to her. Again Jia stopped me, she was gonna check it herself.

She goes inside and I pace around corridor, controlling myself and my wolf.

After most torturous 10 min, the most beautiful girl, I have ever laid my eyes on, came out. My heart just stopped beating. She was so delicate, her hair were straight, light brown and waist lenght, which she had left open. Her eyes were olive green with cute little nose, and most beautiful rosy lips.

When Jia introduced me as his cousinl, she looked at me, our eyes meeting for few seconds and just that was required for my wolf to yell MATE!

But something was not right, why is she so scared. Her skin was pale and she was under nourished. Is that a bruise on her hand??? She was not only hurt but was physically abused too.

When we went in a cafe, she told the reason of her bruises. I want go and kill her stepmom for abusing her in such a way. I didn't talk to her. I didn't know, what to say. I didn't wanted to scare her more.

We dropped her at her house. Now I know where she lives. I am gonna keep check on her from now on. She is my responsibility, I will protect her and take care of her.

I dropped Jia at her work place and thanked her for helping me.

"It's ok Jake, you don't have to thank me. But I hope you understand the situation. You will have to take it slow and be very patient with her. And don't worry, I will take care of her in school."

"Thanks Jia. You are the best" I told her.

She smiled and left.

I went to pack house. I have to talk to Viktor and inform him about all this. When my parents died, his parents took care of me. He was my brother and my family.
