As dawn broke, Catherine lay snugly asleep under her warm covers.
Adam's voice gently nudged her awake, "Catherine, wake up, get up quickly."
Groggily, she opened her eyes, only to find Alex jumping onto her, his little face flushed with excitement. "Mom, look, the aurora! Dad's taking us outside to see it!"
Catherine snapped awake, hurriedly throwing on a coat, and followed Adam and Alex outside.
Sure enough, they were greeted by the breathtaking spectacle of the aurora.
It was stunning.
Like a rainbow in its brilliance, the constantly shifting colors were indescribably beautiful.
The sheer beauty of it left Catherine breathless.
In that moment, with the man she loved and her beloved son by her side, Catherine clasped her hands together, silently wishing upon the dazzling lights.
