Don't Worry

1136 Words
Jason ran out of the building in search for Becca, he walked through the park. He feels that her presence is very close. Feeling his chest squeeze a bit he continued to trace her footsteps, until he ended up in front of an old church. Looking around knowing that her presence is very close. Jason stops, spotting Becca sitting at the foot of the steps of the church. As he walked closer he noticed that her eyes were closed, as if she was in a trance or very deep in thought. Not wanting to bother her, he stood a few feet away from her, and watched as her eyes flickered under her lids. Her hair was tied up in a ponytail, her curly hair hung loosely behind her back. Her cheeks, shoulders and chest were slightly burned, from training in the sun. Her lips were slightly open, breathing slowly. Jason stood still and watched her, as she stood in trance. Jason closed his eyes trying to bring back a small detail of Becca, but couldn't. Why can't I remember you? Opening his eyes, he glanced at Becca and noticed that her lips started to move. Jason looked away quickly, biting his lower lip, wondering if he has ever touched her lips before and if not if he can now. He looked back at her again and watched as her breathing became stronger, and watched her breasts rise then fall. What's going on with you? Taking a few steps towards her until he was close enough to smell her sweat, he leaned over and inhaled her breath as her breathing became erratic. Jason put his hand on her cheek, wiping her sweat off. Her eyes flicker open, grabbed his wrist and twists it. Jason yelped, as he felt his wrist twist away from her face. Relaxing her grip, she let out some air. "What were you trying to do?" Pulling his hand away, he rubs his wrist. "I wasn't doing anything." Putting his hands in his pockets his eyes searched Becca's face. Feeling her skin getting warm by his eyes, she rolled her shoulders and stood up. Sucking in her breath she felt goosebumps rise as Jason continued to observe her, as if trying to place her. "I'm sorry for staring at you. I'm.... just... trying to...." "No. Don't." Becca waves her hand dismissing him. Adjusting the bag on her shoulders she brushed passed him and walked towards Pitt Street. The park across the church was dark, as Becca continues to cross the street. Jason strides beside her and looks up at the sky. It was getting dark, some clouds remain in the sky as the sun sets. Walking side by side, Jason felt chills on his arms as he accidentally brushes Becca's arm. Looking down at her, the smell of lavender tingled his nose, breathing it in deeply. "Why are you upset?" "Who says that I'm upset?" Becca continued to walk keeping her eyes in front of her. "I could just feel that you are not so happy... What happened?" She continued to walk, keeping her eyes glued to the street in front of her. Looking across where the gas station used to be. Saving Father Michael from those creatures, and finding out once everything calmed down that they were two parishioners. Since then the gas station has been an empty lot soon to be prime real estate. Becca sucked in some air, and forgot that Jason has been beside her, watching her daydream. "Stop looking at me and please don't follow me!" "Why? You came to my place for a reason. I'm guessing because I missed training." Rolling her eyes, she let out some air through her nose, and gave Jason an annoyed look. Taking a step back, he looked up and down at her. "What did I do, that you're looking at me as if you're pissed?" "I dropped by your place to bring you food. Was talking to Alex for a bit and he was telling me that you've been out of commission for a few days. Which I thought that it was weird since you didn't show up for training yesterday… or the day before. I was about to go into your room until I heard you groaning." Jason stopped, remembering the nightmare he had. His chest squeezed realizing that Becca may have seen it as well. Hesitating, he rubbed his head. "Did you see what was happening to me?" She turned and looked at him. His blue T-shirt was wrinkled, his hair was a mess. She sniffed and wrinkled her nose, looking up at him. "Do you remember what was happening to you?" Jason rubbed his head, confusion spread across his face, knowing that she heard everything. Taking in a ragged breath, he shook his head. "Becca... Truthfully. It felt as if... I was being, possessed. I... I can't... explain it. I was out for a while and it felt like a few hours." His eyes wandered around her face, trying to figure out what was going through her mind. Becca continued to stare into his eyes, then finally relaxed. Rubbing her arms from a sudden chill, she tilted her head to the side. Wanting to touch her face, but knew he couldn't he shoved his hands back into his pockets and looked down at her eyes as she searched his face. Becca reaches up and touch his shoulder giving it a light pat. "Don't worry about it. I'll take care of it. In the meantime, go home and eat what I left for you. You don't look so well." Jason shook his head from her answer and rubbed his eyes. "What do you mean you'll take care of it? Where are you going?" He grabbed her arm, before she was able to turn away from him. A small shock went through his fingers and into his arm as his fingers brushed her forearm. She looked up at him again, feeling warmth run up her arm where his hands touched her. "I'm going home to take care of my daughter. Nothing for you to worry about." Shrugging him away, she rubbed her arm still feeling his hand on her. Jason looked down at his hands and once again shoved it into his pockets. "When will I see you?" She raised her eyebrows from his question and smiled. "I'll see you tomorrow afternoon. Late." Walking away, she crosses the street before the lights changed. Jason stood next to the crosswalk and watches her walk away, disappearing behind the construction site on 1st street. That shock that he felt when he touched her sent a feeling that he hasn't felt before, but it was very familiar to him. He leaned against the brick wall of Hamilton Fish Park and closed his eyes.
