Evelyn POV Waking the next morning, I get up, quickly shower, and get changed into my jeans and polo shirt. Then, I throw my hair up into a bun while I walk down the stairs and try to remember where I put my shoes. Finding them by the door, I quickly slip them on and walk into the dining room to Mara, having a full-on meltdown as she chucks her cereal at Ryland, crying hysterically over something. “Mara, you don't throw things,” Ryland scolds, picking up her bowl that has splattered on the floorboards. His shirt is covered in cornflakes where it has got on him. “Why did you do that?” I ask her, but she is far gone, screaming and not paying attention to anyone.
