Evelyn POV “What did you do?” I ask, wondering if he has destroyed another city or hurt someone. I know the possibilities of what he could have done are endless, and the suspense is worse than if he would just spit it out. “I am the reason you ended up in the foster care system,” he says, making me confused. How can he possibly be the reason I ended up in the foster care system? He didn’t abandon me there.
