The man, face flushed, spoke slowly as he approached Lily, the stench of alcohol filling her nose. "I'm in a hurry, sorry," Lily said, stepping back in disgust, only to find her path blocked by the other three men. The first man continued, "We don't want no harm, just wanna borrow some money." Was this a robbery or something? Lily didn't have much cash on her, just a twenty-dollar bill and a few singles for a cab ride back. She considered handing the money over to get rid of them, but a low voice inside warned her that they might have worse intentions. Asking for money could be just an excuse to get closer to her. Clutching her small purse tightly, her heart pounding, Lily knew she couldn't show fear. "Listen, I don't want any trouble," she said, trying to make her voice sound firm.
