Amy got her affirmative answer when William remained silent.
"She's your sister. I think you should keep some distance." Amy reminded him quietly.
"None of your business." William shut the door, leaving Amy outside.
Lily hurried to the academy conference room but she arrived a step too late. The competition team members had already left, leaving only Alex and piles of materials on the empty table. Seeing Lily appear, Alex stepped forward and questioned her with displeasure. "Didn't I make myself clear enough? Everyone was supposed to gather in the conference room tonight. Why are you the only one absent?"
"Sorry, I had some unexpected circumstances..." Lily apologized, realizing that William's sudden appearance had made her forget the meeting.
