School

275 Words
The next day, Jen got ready to go to school. Again. Lucky for her, summer vacation was coming in a week. Three and a half months of no school - the perfect reward for slogging through the first half of the year. The thought boosted her walk to West Junior High.     She ran to class just in time, bumping into Sarah along the way. They talked about what Alex had mentioned the day before and what it could have meant. "But what about me? I don't have anything, unlike you or Alex," grumbled Sarah. "It's, uh, fine. I mean, it's not like we're not gonna team up to be some dumb superhero team, right?" replied Jen. Actually, Jen did want to team up to be some dumb superhero team, but there was really nothing exciting going on where they lived. Just some occasional fires, robberies and stuff like that.    "Never mind, I'll see if I do. But the chances are 0.000000000001%," Sarah said again.    Jen only walked into class with Sarah tailing behind her. Despite Sarah complaining that life was unfair, she felt it was going to be a great day for some reason. After school she'd meet up with Alex and ask him all about whatever powers she had. She'd know more about what was going on, then maybe she'd even go on an adventure or something during the summer vacation. Her mind would've went even further if not for Mrs Popplecrump asking her if she was alright.     Maybe now Mrs P thinks I have a mental illness or something, cos she keeps asking me if I'm fine, though Jen. Nevertheless she kept smiling.
