Chapter Fourteen

Kaal stare at Calantha snoring a bit and he sigh.

Her head was on his chest, her hand hugging his waist as if holding him not to leave her alone again.

The black bag beneath her eye was still visible, her neck hollow and long.

It was visible she had a tough time when he disappeared for a month.

‘She’s really tired, she’s sleeping soundly for the first time since you left’ Harry mumbled.

A smile crept is way into his lips staring at her.

Does he still want to leave her?

Is he ready to bring her into his world?

He will lose his sanity without her definitely.

“The Regent is here” An Herald announced outside.

He gently slipped away from her hold and a frown appeared in her lips.

“I’m coming Queenie I promise” he mumbled and she opened her eyes sleepily.

“Where are you going to? You should spend time with me yunno” she said yawning.

“Rylan is outside and I have to go, I will be back just close your eyes and by the time you open it I will be back in the room” he said and she smile.

“Hmm” she muttered looking as he stand up from the bed.

“I will be back” he covered her with the quilt giving her a peck on her head and went outside after putting on his cloth.

“Supreme Lord?!” Rylan gasped seeing Kaal.

“Yeah I’m back do you expect me to leave forever” Kaal said coldly.

“I didn’t mean that….”

“Wait a minute you know I’m not here so why bother coming to my chamber” he raise his brow.

“Oh yeah I almost forgot I came here to meet the Queen”

“For?”

“Her friend…Evelyn was attacked by God knows who and she’s still not awake I was able to find her but I was a bit too late” Rylan explained.

“I will be back” Kaal muttered entering his chamber.

Calantha was naked as he assumed and she was fast asleep, he snapped his hand and a cloth appeared on her body.

Seeing the cloth on her, he covered her with the quilt and he teleported outside.

“Let’s go in, we won’t want to risk it since there is a rat in our midst” he teleported inside to his study and Rylan entered through the door.

Rylan was kinda shocked seeing Calantha sleeping soundly and snoring a bit.

“SHE’S MY QUEEN NOT YOURS SO GET YOUR FXCKING EYES OFF HER” Kaal growled and Rylan scrambled towards him.

Calantha blink her eye lash hearing sound, Kaal made a sound barrier immediately so they won’t disturb her sleep.

“I’m sorry Supreme Lord I’m just shocked, she never slept when you left and now she’s sleeping soundly now you are back” a grin appear on Rylan face.

“Quit grinning and just explain how you saw her friend”

“Ohh” Rylan muttered.

Flashback***

“Erm…pls have you seen my friend, the one with dark brown hair, dark eye and has porcelain skin?” Lily asked a guard.

“She left the chamber I don’t know thereafter” the guards replied.

“Lily I asked the guards over there as well they didn’t sight her” Bianca sigh.

“Where did she go to?” Lily sigh.

“Let’s just go over to Calantha room to check” Bianca remarked.

“She might be there as well” Lily muttered and they matched towards Calantha chamber.

“Is there a problem misses?” The Herald asked seeing Calantha and Bianca.

“Erm is Calantha inside?” Lily asked.

“Yes, she said no one to disturb her” Ghe Herald announced.

“Fxck” Bianca groaned.

“Is anyone inside with her, I mean our friend the one with porcelain skin, a little bit dark hair?” Lily asked.

“No one came in here” The Herald replied.

“If you are searching for anyone you should meet the Regent he will find her” the Herald said.

“Ohh thanks” Bianca said.

On their way, they saw Rylan who had a little frown on his face.

“Erm Rylan we need your help” Lily muttered.

“With?” He raise his brow.

“Okay look Evelyn is missing we can’t find her anywhere and the guards said they didn’t see her” Bianca said sharply.

“What?!” Rylan exclaimed.

“Just help us find her” the ladies chorused.

“Hmm, you can go to your room I will bring her to you” Rylan said walking out of their sight.

“Let’s just wait as he said, I’m sure he will bring her” Bianca muttered.

“Hmm” Lily mumbled.

“Where did she go to” Rylan muttered checking all the chambers present in the right side of the mansion.

This is where everybody stays and only Kaal and Calantha chamber is in the left side.

Trying to get her scent he couldn’t locate it in any of the chambers in the right side.

‘Could she possibly be over there, but there’s no one there’ He mumbled staring at the left side of the mansion.

A maid suddenly rushed pass him, her hand was sweaty.

Seeing her fidgeting he stopped her giving her a questioning look.

“Regent” she bowed shakingly.

“Did you see Evelyn, I mean the queen friend?” He asked.

“N…no I didn’t…” the maid replied a bead of sweat forming on her head.

“You can go” Rylan muttered looking at the left side of the mansion the maid came from.

“Yes Regent” the maid scrambled away.

“Something seems off, let’s get her then I come back for you” he mumbled going towards the left side of the mansion.

After passing about five chamber her heard weak sounds coming from a chamber.

He rushed towards the chamber where the sound was coming from.

The door was locked, he used his power and the door opened widely.

“WTF!” he gasped seeing Evelyn on the floor.

She was lying down like a vegetable, sweat all over her body.

Rylan rushed into the Chamber and a smell hit his nostrils.

“Black mist, how did it get here” he carried Evelyn body closing the door back.

“Black mist?, have you gotten your hands on the maid?” Kaal asked heat radiating from his body.

“That’s the craziest part, the maid was dead before I got to her”

“Dead or was killed?” Kaal asked.

“To everybody she killed herself but that’s definitely not the case I’m sure, someone killed her” Kaal added.

“Yes Supreme lord, she died through magic and no one in the palace possess magic excluding you, the queen, queen Ivana, Maude and I” Rylan said.

“That we know though, there is someone lurking around here or maybe there’s really a rat among us” Rylan added.

“In two hours time from now assemble all the living souls in the courtyard excluding the jailed ones” he growled.

“Yes supreme lord” Rylan bow.

Feeling his body getting a hole, Kaal glanced at Calantha she was fully awake staring at him.

“Erm you can go now” he said to Rylan.

“Okay” Rylan said walking out.

Kaal snapped his hand removing the sound barrier.

“My Queen” Rylan bow to Calantha and walked out.

Kaal saw her gasped a bit, her eyes scanning if she was still naked and he couldn’t help but smile.

He saw her sigh and his smile grew wider, he take low strides toward her but Calantha rushed to the washroom before he could reach her.

“Queenie?” He called no response and he chuckled.

Calantha opened her eyes feeling hot.

She looked at the side of the bed and Kaal wasn’t there, fear gripped her.

Did he leave again?.

His cologne hit her nostrils and she scanned the room.

“There he is” she mumbled a smile forming on her lips.

His mouth were moving, only the part of his face was visible.

His sharp jawline looked tempting, his black silky hair was shining calling for her touch.

His lips is pink and a little plumpy, he would say something then his temple move, he touched the bridge of his nose.

His face suddenly changed, he had a angry look on his face, Ohh that’s where the heat was coming from.

“What’s wrong with him?” She asked no one in particular staring at the way he was talking.

Kaal stared at her and she felt butterflies doing fireworks in her stomach.

She saw his mouth move but she didn’t hear a word.

“My Queen” she heard Rylan and that’s when she realized he was inside, the person Kaal was talking to.

She immediately glanced down remembering she slept naked last night.

She sigh seeing a cloth on her.

Looking up, she saw Kaal moving close to her.

“My morning breath stinks” she mumbled to herself rushing to the bathroom to brush.

“Queenie” she heard his voice making her face pinkish.

Is she finally his?

Is he hers?

Are they normal couple now?

The question kept disturbing her.

She brushed and walk out of the washroom

Immediately she walked out a hand dragged her to the bed, a gasp escape her lips.

“Kaal” she mumbled biting her lips.

“Queenie I can give you a clearer look if you want” he chuckled biting her ear lobe gently.

“Huh” she asked her face turning pink again.

“You were drilling holes in my body weren’t you, busy to the extent of not noticing Rylan was in the room as well”

“I was staring at my hus…” she stopped her words realizing they are not even married.

Their relationship had no title, she was just a queen who have to stay by a king side.

“Let’s get married cause it seems you want to call me that name badly” Kaal winked at her.

“Really?” She grinned.

“You look kinda creepy grinning like that” Kaal smirked and her smile dropped.

“You don’t have to say mean words” she scoffed pushing him away facing her back on him.

“My manners Queenie” he smirked hugging her from the back, his breath tingling her neck as he buried his face in her neck.

“Hmm, seemed there is something wrong with the way you were talking earlier” she muttered trying to stop a moan from escaping her lips.

“It will be solved soon Queenie” he kissed her neck.

Calantha sigh remembering what she did with Henry and how he left.

Was he angry or sad as Avery had said.

“Queenie” Kaal called out and she faced him.

“Reading my thoughts again” she smile sadly.

“I didn’t leave because I was angry at you, I left because I was angry at myself” he cupped her cheeks.

“I’m so…sorry, I shouldn’t have gone… to him in the first… place…I’m sorry…I..” she stuttered her tears flowing down.

“I hate it when you cry” Kaal growled.

“You did everything just for me Kaal and I hurt you badly I’m sorry” she mumbled wiping her tears.

“Queenie, I wanted you to hate me, if you fall for me then you will get trapped in my world”

“I wasn’t falling for you Kaal because I had fallen for you already…I’m ready to face everything with you” She said.

“I won’t be able to bear it if anything happens to you Queenie and that will happen if you stay with me” he muttered.

“I might die if I stay away from you, I lived for a month without you and I felt my soul slipping away” she muttered.

“Queenie…”

“Don’t push me away please Kaal, I want to stay by your side please” she begged.

“I love you Queenie” Kaal said.

Calantha felt she was in a dream hearing him say those words.

She was told this word countless times from Henry and others but it never sounded like this.

She felt blessed, butterflies….nah dragon flies.

Butterflies is an understatement for what she’s feeling now.

Dragonflies are playing fireworks in her as she felt a feeling growing in her stomach.

“Are you there” Kaal whispered his voice was laced with fear in them.

Fear of getting rejected.

“I’m sorry I zoned out, I just wasn’t expecting you to say it suddenly…my mind… we….”

Her words were cut short immediately Kaal lips landed on hers.

“I will remain selfish Queenie, welcome to my world” he muttered.

“I want to get drowned in that world of yours” she said digging her hand inside his hair.

He snapped his hand and her cloth disappeared.

“You make me wanna run mad Queenie” he mumbled.

“I love you Kaal” she mumbled but he heard it.

That was enough for him to lose his sanity.

“Who the fxck touched her” Lily snapped.

“We don’t know yet, but we will get the person soon” Rylan shrugged.

“If I get my hands on that filthy person who laid his or her hand on Evelyn then that person is so gone” Lily grits her teeth.

“Let’s just hope she wakes, she might remember who brought her to the room” Bianca said.

“A maid took her there….”

“Where is the b***h” Lily cut him off.

“She’s dead” Rylan sigh.

“Huh?, wait a minute I’m confused you mean a maid took her there and now the maid is dead” Bianca said raising her brow.

“More like she was killed right?” Lily grits her teeth.

“Exactly, someone told her to take Evelyn there, she was all sweaty and fear was evident in her eyes when I bumped into the maid and when I later saw her she was dead” Rylan explained.

“But Evelyn didn’t mess with anybody” Lily mumbled.

“What if it’s that Maude girl or Blessing, I once saw the two of them together, two witches” Bianca rolled her eyes.

“We can’t be sure of that, we will get to the end of this don’t worry” Rylan assured them.

“So when is she waking now?“ Lily asked sighing.

“After a day or two, she inhaled it too much” Rylan said.

“Damn!!” Bianca cursed.

“Where is Calantha? I haven’t seen her all day is she okay?” Lily asked.

“She’s fine, Supreme lord is with her” Rylan remarked.

“Supreme Lord? He is back?” Lily asked.

“Yeah, I wanted to meet the Queen but I saw him there and she was fast asleep when I entered the chamber” Rylan explained.

“Woah, the lady finally slept seeing her shining armor” Bianca chuckled.

“Let’s just hope for the best” Lily said.
